As a huge Ninja Gaiden fan, I was so excited to see more of Ninja Gaiden 4 at Tokyo Game Show! They showed off some cool new difficulty options, which will even let you auto-block and auto-dodge – that’s a game changer! It’s been an amazing year for the series overall, with Ragebound getting fantastic reviews and now, after so long, Ninja Gaiden 4 is almost here. I think this new one will be a lot more accessible for newer players too, which is awesome. I can’t wait for October!
It’s been 13 years since the last *Ninja Gaiden* game, so fans are really excited about the new one. When Team NINJA and Platinum Games unexpectedly announced *Ninja Gaiden 4* in January, they also said players wouldn’t have to wait long to play it. With the release date now just a month away, the developers have shared some surprising new information about the action-packed game.
Ninja Gaiden 4’s Hero Mode Offers Auto-Block, Auto-Evade, and Auto-Assist Features
At a recent gaming event, details about the difficulty options in *Ninja Gaiden 4* were revealed. A new “Hero” mode will offer features like automatic blocking, dodging, and assistance, making the game more accessible for newcomers. These features are designed to help players learn combos and timing without being overwhelmed. Players can turn these assists off at any time, and the game’s difficulty will still be a bit easier than previous entries. While *Ninja Gaiden 2* was notoriously difficult, longtime fans can still experience a challenging game by choosing the Normal or Hard difficulty settings.
Players will be able to adjust the difficulty of *Ninja Gaiden 4* whenever they want, without any consequences. A separate training mode will also be available, letting players practice and improve their skills before starting the story. Despite these changes, the game is staying true to its origins. As previously announced, *Ninja Gaiden 4* will feature Ultimate Guidance, and players can turn off Hit Lag and hide the lock-on marker for a more challenging and faster-paced combat experience similar to previous *Ninja Gaiden* games.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer to experience *Ninja Gaiden 4* with any difficulty level they choose, as it’s launching on October 21, 2025. It will be available immediately with Xbox Game Pass, and combined with the game’s new accessibility features, this should attract both longtime players and newcomers. The wait is nearly over for everyone!
