At long last, it’s official! Nintendo has made the announcement that we’ve all been anticipating – the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, a secret that’s been buzzing in the video game world for quite some time now.
In a brief, two-minute video posted online, Nintendo officially unveiled the final design of their forthcoming gaming console. Corroborating leaks from the last few months, the video revealed a sleeker, more rounded aesthetic for the device. Key features include an updated kickstand with a broader angle, a revamped docking station, magnetically attached joy-con controllers, and additional updates.
During the recent sneak peek, it looked like they were demonstrating a fresh Mario Kart game on the new console. Further details about both the console and its games will be unveiled during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on April 2nd. One thing that was made clear during the initial reveal is that the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2 won’t just support digital games from the original Nintendo Switch, but it will also be compatible with physical games from the first Nintendo Switch.
To clarify, the company has mentioned that some Nintendo Switch games might not work optimally or at all on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Further details regarding this issue will be shared in due course.
