Nintendo Announces Plan to Acquire Bandai Namco Singapore Studio

Nintendo is buying Bandai Namco’s studio in Singapore. The two companies have worked together before, notably on the development of Splatoon 3.

Bandai Namco Studio Singapore, founded in 2013 and known for games like Ace Combat 7 and Splatoon 3, will now become part of Nintendo.

Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to Become Nintendo Studios Singapore

I was so excited to hear that Nintendo is planning to buy a big stake in this studio! They’re going to get 80% of the shares on April 1st, 2026, which is awesome, and then they’ll pick up the rest sometime after that. It’s great news for fans, and I can’t wait to see what they do together!

Nintendo is changing the name of its Singapore studio to Nintendo Studios Singapore. It will operate as a Nintendo subsidiary, but will continue to develop games as before.

Nintendo is turning its Singapore studio into a dedicated support team, much like it has functioned for the last ten years. Nintendo highlights the studio’s skill in creating art for games. The company doesn’t expect this change to significantly impact their financial performance this year.

Because Nintendo already works closely with the Singapore studio – they even helped create Splatoon 3 – integrating them further into the company should be a smooth process.

Nintendo is planning to create even more movies based on its popular games. Following the release of The Legend of Zelda movie in 2027, the company has several other projects already in the works.
