Nintendo Announces Treehouse Live Featuring Pokemon Pokopia and Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Nintendo is hosting a Treehouse Live event on February 24th. The 80-minute stream will showcase gameplay of the new Pokemon Pokopia and a special Nintendo Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, including a look at its upcoming ‘Meetup in Bellabel Park’ downloadable content.

Nintendo Treehouse, created in the 1990s, focuses on translating and adapting Nintendo’s games for audiences in North and South America. They gained popularity by livestreaming gameplay demonstrations during E3 2014, showcasing newly announced titles. Since then, Nintendo Treehouse has continued to host these livestreams, offering in-depth looks at upcoming games.

New Nintendo Treehouse Live Event Announced for February 24, 2026

  • Airing February 24 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET

Nintendo revealed Pokemon Pokopia during their September 2025 Direct. This new life simulation game combines the social interactions of Animal Crossing with the building and crafting aspects of Dragon Quest Builders. A recent gameplay trailer showed off features like quests, a photo mode, and a way to share gameplay with friends, while also hinting at the many friendly Pokemon who will live on the islands. Although a lot about how Pokopia plays has already been shown, you can see around 30-40 minutes of actual gameplay at tomorrow’s Nintendo Treehouse Live event, ahead of the game’s March 5th release.

Announced alongside Pokemon Pokopia, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is receiving an upgraded version for the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026. This upgrade will offer the visual and performance improvements you’d expect for the new console, and it will include the “Meetup at Bellabel Park” DLC. This DLC adds a new area to the game – Bellabel Park – focused on both local and online multiplayer. Players can look forward to a ton of new cooperative and competitive minigames, a new power-up, updated Koopaling bosses with Wonder Forms, and new characters to play as. Nintendo is likely to showcase more of the multiplayer features in an upcoming Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation.

What’s Next for Nintendo?

Tomorrow’s Nintendo Treehouse Live will give us a good look at two exciting games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, but it probably won’t be the big presentation some fans are waiting for. Nintendo has already held three Direct presentations this year, but none have been a comprehensive showcase of first-party games and updates. The first focused on the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the second on Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and the most recent highlighted games from Nintendo’s partners. With the Nintendo Switch 2 approaching its one-year anniversary, many fans are hoping Nintendo will soon host a full Nintendo Direct to reveal what’s in store for the console later in 2026.

Although the next general Nintendo Direct is still a ways off, Pokémon fans won’t have to wait long for news. The Pokémon Company is celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary on February 27, 2026, with a new Pokémon Presents livestream. While details haven’t been officially announced, rumors suggest we’ll finally see the reveal of the next generation of Pokémon games – Generation 10 – during the 25-minute presentation.
