Dispatch will be launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 shortly, but the game will include some changes and censored content.
Dispatch launches on consoles January 29th and includes mature content like nudity and coarse language. Although the game offers a self-censorship option, Nintendo seems to have automatically applied it for all players.
So, Adhoc Studios actually confirmed to Eurogamer that they did censor some stuff in the game, but they’re promising the story and how it plays out won’t be affected. Basically, the core experience should still be the same, just with a few changes here and there.
AdHoc explained that each gaming platform has its own rules for what content it allows, and every game submission is judged on its own merits. They collaborated with Nintendo to make sure the game met Nintendo’s standards for release, but the story and how the game is played are the same as in the original version.
Launched in October with new episodes released each week, Dispatch unexpectedly became a major success in 2025. It sold 2 million copies within the first month and has since exceeded 3 million copies across PlayStation and PC. Now that it’s available on the Nintendo Switch 2, and with potential for release on other platforms, sales are expected to climb even higher.
The AdHoc team has expressed continued interest in developing more content featuring the Z-Team. However, whether future installments will actually happen is still uncertain.
