One idea is that this short film might be connected to *The Super Mario Galaxy Movie*, coming out on April 3, 2026. Some people think the little child could be Princess Rosalina, as her parents’ identities are a mystery. It’s possible this is a scene from the movie, though the animation style looks a little different.
