Nintendo is downplaying rumors about two classic GameCube games potentially coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service after details appeared online.
Following a leaked image from Walmart hinting at Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2 joining the Nintendo Switch Online service, Nintendo has addressed the situation. In a statement to IGN, Nintendo confirmed the image contained errors.
Nintendo of America recently shared an image with a retailer featuring upcoming Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics titles. Unfortunately, the image included games that aren’t currently scheduled for release. Nintendo has since removed the image and apologized for the mistake and any confusion it caused.
The main takeaway is that these two older games aren’t currently being released. However, that doesn’t rule out the possibility of them being available in the future.
Okay, so those two games aren’t hitting the service right now, but honestly, there’s still a ton to play! And hey, fingers crossed we’ll hear about even more during the next Nintendo Direct, right?
