Gamers with the Nintendo Switch 2 have enjoyed a strong start to 2026, with exciting exclusive games like Mario Tennis Fever and Pokemon Pokopia, as well as popular multiplatform titles such as Resident Evil Requiem. The new Switch 2 is much more powerful than the original, meaning it can play most of the major games that are released on other consoles.
The Switch 2 is relying on continued support from other game companies, as Nintendo doesn’t have any major exclusive titles planned for its release in April 2026. Instead, they’re releasing games like the free-to-play Pokemon Champions and the life simulation game Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on the original Switch. While these games will work on the new Switch 2 thanks to backward compatibility, they aren’t being specifically made for the new system – at least, not yet, according to current announcements.
Okay, so April 2026 might not have as many new Switch 2 games as March did, but there are still some really awesome titles coming out that I’m super excited about! It kicks off right away with Darwin’s Paradox on April 2nd, then we’ve got Mouse: P.I. for Hire on the 16th, Pragmata on the 17th, and to finish the month strong, Amnesia: Rebirth is coming out on the 30th. Definitely a good month for Switch 2 owners!
Upcoming Switch 2 Games for April 2026
- Darwin’s Paradox – April 2
- Mouse: P.I. for Hire – April 16
- Pragmata – April 17
- Amnesia: Rebirth – April 30
Konami recently released Darwin’s Paradox, a unique side-scrolling platformer where you play as an octopus. It’s particularly noteworthy because Konami usually focuses on existing franchises, making this a completely new game. On a different note, Mouse: P.I. for Hire is a first-person shooter with a charming, old-cartoon aesthetic and classic gameplay. I’ve been looking forward to it for a while, but its release was recently pushed back from last month.
Capcom’s Pragmata is shaping up to be one of the biggest Nintendo Switch 2 releases in April 2026. Coming from the team behind the critically acclaimed Resident Evil Requiem, this sci-fi action game offers a fresh take on combat. Players will control two characters: Hugh, who uses weapons and a jetpack in battle, and Diana, who focuses on hacking puzzles to help Hugh defeat robotic enemies. It’s a bold new direction for Capcom, and it’s great to see a large publisher taking a chance on an original title like Pragmata.
I’m really excited about Amnesia: Rebirth coming to the Switch 2! It originally came out a while ago on other consoles, and it’s seriously scary. It’s a survival-horror game where you’re stuck in a really dangerous desert, trying to figure out puzzles and, most importantly, avoid the monsters. It’s a fantastic addition to the Amnesia series, and I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the most terrifying games on the Switch 2 when it comes out on April 30th.
Aside from Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launching on May 21st, the Switch 2 doesn’t have many confirmed games scheduled for the rest of the year. While rumors suggest a big summer lineup including games like Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Splatoon Raiders, and a new Star Fox title, Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed these releases. We’ll likely learn more during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, but for now, fans can enjoy the games coming out in April.
