Nintendo Switch 2 Has 8 Big Games Releasing in October 2025

Okay, so the Switch 2 is really building up a great game library! As of October 2025, we’ve got eight awesome titles to look forward to. The console launched with *Mario Kart World*, which everyone’s been raving about, and then a little over a month later *Donkey Kong Bananza* dropped. *Drag x Drive* came out in August, which I’m super excited about. September was a bit quieter for exclusive releases, but we still got some big name games from other developers adding to the Switch 2’s collection.

Switch 2 players enjoyed several new games in September, including *Star Wars Outlaws*, *Cronos: The New Dawn*, and the highly anticipated *Hollow Knight: Silksong*. *Silksong* has quickly become one of the best-rated games of the year, making September a fantastic month for the Switch 2. However, October looks to be even more packed with releases.

Okay, so October 2025 is looking *insane* for the Switch 2! I’ve got my calendar marked already. It kicks off on the 3rd with *Borderlands 4*, then a week later on the 9th, *Yooka-Replaylee* drops. The 10th brings *Little Nightmares 3*, and then things *really* heat up with *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* on the 16th. We’ve also got *Persona 3 Reload* on the 23rd, and a double-dose of awesome on the 30th with both *Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake* and *Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection*. To finish off the month, *Mina the Hollower* is finally coming out on Halloween, October 31st! Seriously, my wallet is already crying, but I can’t wait!

Upcoming Switch 2 Games for October 2025

  • Borderlands 4 – October 3
  • Yooka-Replaylee – October 9
  • Little Nightmares 3 – October 10
  • Pokemon Legends: Z-A – October 16
  • Persona 3 Reload – October 23
  • Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake – October 30
  • Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection – October 30
  • Mina the Hollower – October 31

The latest installment in the series, *Borderlands 4*, came out earlier this month on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Switch 2 players will be able to join the action soon, but there’s a notable difference. While the game should offer a similar experience to other platforms, it won’t support split-screen multiplayer. This is a downside, but *Borderlands 4* still promises plenty of loot-shooting fun for Switch 2 fans.

Nintendo usually releases a major exclusive game each month, and this October it’s *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*. The game is initially launching on the original Switch, but a better version with improved graphics and performance will also be available for the new Switch 2. While the Switch 2 version is the best way to play, it will cost $10 more than the standard Switch version.

Nintendo Switch owners have a lot to look forward to before the end of the year! In addition to *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* launching October 16th, players can also anticipate *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment* on November 6th, *Kirby Air Riders* on November 20th, and *Metroid Prime 4: Beyond* on December 4th.
