Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 were scheduled to start at 12:01 am ET on April 9 in certain Canadian stores. However, due to a sudden change, players nationwide will need to be patient as Nintendo has postponed pre-orders for the console within Canada at the last second.
First reported by MobileSyrup, Nintendo confirmed the decision to wait until a later date.
Canadian pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 won’t begin on April 9, 2025. This is to coordinate with the U.S.’s yet-to-be-determined pre-order timing. Nintendo will share more details at a later time. The planned launch date of June 5, 2025 remains the same.
The statement appears quite alike to the previous one, as the U.S. pre-orders were postponed by the company last week.
At present, the Nintendo Switch retails for $629 CAD for its standard version, while the Mario Kart World Bundle costs $699 CAD. It remains unclear whether the cost of this system might adjust within the country or if it will merely follow the pricing strategy outlined by the company, which is to match the U.S. plans.
