Nintendo Switch 2 Prototype Designs Seemingly Leak

As a seasoned gamer with over 30 years of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the leaked images and specs of the Nintendo Switch 2 have stirred quite a buzz in the gaming community. Having played on every console from the original NES to the current Switch, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and skepticism.

I stumbled upon some intriguing rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 online. Initially, they popped up on Chinese social media platforms and later spread to Reddit. The leaked pictures offer a sneak peek into what might be the next big thing in gaming from Nintendo, potentially replacing the beloved Switch.

As a dedicated Nintendo enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the leaked details of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2! From what we’ve seen, it seems the new console will boast a larger screen, innovative magnetic Joy-Cons, and multiple USB-C ports for enhanced connectivity. The overall design, while updated, retains the familiar look of the original Switch. Notably, it appears to inherit the back stand design from the Switch OLED model, setting it apart from the compact kickstand of the base Switch. Can’t wait to get my hands on this exciting upgrade!

Using the Joy-Cons you’ve previously mentioned, the pictures suggest a change in attachment method compared to the originals. Additionally, they appear to corroborate earlier rumors about extra buttons located on the rear side of each controller.

What About Nintendo Switch 2 Specs?

Beyond just discussing its overall layout, it’s been claimed that certain technical specifications for the next Nintendo Switch (often referred to as the Switch 2) have been unveiled prematurely. The upcoming device is said to boast 12GB of RAM, HDMI 2.1 compatibility, and a generous 256GB of internal storage. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 seems to support earlier theories that this console might be capable of delivering 4K resolution in some fashion.

As an avid fan, I feel compelled to share that I haven’t been able to personally confirm the authenticity of those Nintendo Switch 2 design sketches circulating online. Until I get confirmation or an official announcement, it’s best to approach these leaked images and reported specifications with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Nintendo has yet to respond to requests for comment on the design leak. It’s unlikely they will, however. They are expected to reveal the console sometime later this year with a 2025 launch. If you want to see the images of the leaked design, you can do so below.

Online, preliminary designs for the potential Nintendo Switch 2 have emerged, which appear to validate several earlier design speculations. (1/3)
