Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack now includes Luigi’s Mansion, a highly-rated GameCube classic. This update coincides with the release of the Switch 2. Subscribers to the Expansion Pack on both Switch 2 and original Switch consoles have access to a growing library of classic games, with Switch 2 owners getting exclusive GameCube titles on top of everything else.
As a Switch Online subscriber, I was so excited when the service first launched with a selection of classic GameCube games! They didn’t mess around, including some real gems right away. I immediately jumped into The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which is still amazing, and had a blast with Soulcalibur 2 and the incredibly fast-paced F-Zero GX. Nintendo’s been adding more since then, too! We got Super Mario Strikers in July, which is a ton of fun, and then Chibi-Robo showed up in August – a really cool, quirky game that I’d always wanted to try.
Luigi’s Mansion is Now on Switch Online
Nintendo Switch Online just added the classic GameCube game Luigi’s Mansion to its library of retro titles. Originally released with the GameCube, Luigi’s Mansion is a beloved game where you play as Luigi exploring a haunted house. It’s a fun, spooky adventure – a bit short, but praised for being a unique and accessible horror game, even including references to the Resident Evil series. It’s a fan favorite, and a great choice for a Halloween playthrough.
With the arrival of the original Luigi’s Mansion on the Switch Online Expansion Pack, the Switch has become the best console to play all things Luigi’s Mansion. The Switch can play the first game, and because it’s compatible with original Switch games, you can also enjoy the popular Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Luigi’s Mansion 3. Luigi’s Mansion 2 offered a unique mission-based experience with multiple locations, while Luigi’s Mansion 3 moved the action to a hotel and added a fun cooperative multiplayer mode.
