New Super NES – Nintendo Classics Features on Nintendo Switch Online
- Mouse controls
- Customizable controls
Following the latest update, Nintendo has incorporated two significant enhancements into SNES games accessible through the Nintendo Switch Online service. Gamers now have the option to utilize a USB mouse or the Joy-Con controllers from the Switch 2 for gaming with mouse controls. Titles such as “Mario Paint” (mouse controls exclusive), “Mario’s Super Picross”, “Nobunaga’s Ambition”, and others have been confirmed as compatible. A notable improvement is the introduction of control customization for SNES games, which has long been requested by gamers. This feature allows users to tailor their controls to each game, with different configurations being savable for future use.
In the past few months, the subscription service has been updated with several new features, including ones for N64 games on Nintendo Switch Online. In May, Nintendo introduced the option to customize and view controls, similar to recent changes made to SNES games. Additionally, there were exclusive features specifically for the latest Nintendo Switch 2, such as gameplay rewinding and a CRT monitor filter that gives the games a vintage 90s look.

In addition to introducing new features, Nintendo is also expanding their service offerings by adding more games. Last month alone, they added “Chibi-Robo” from the GameCube collection on Nintendo Switch Online. Besides “Chibi-Robo”, four other titles have been introduced: “F-Zero GX”, “Soulcalibur 2”, “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker”, and “Super Mario Strikers”. Let’s hope that Nintendo keeps enhancing their service and providing a growing selection of fresh games and intriguing features for players.
