Nintendo released a notice today announcing the discontinuation of My Nintendo Gold Points.
Via the My Nintendo Rewards program, gamers can gather Gold Points whenever they buy digital Nintendo Switch games or DLC. These points can then be redeemed for prizes and discounts on the My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop. But, as of March 25, 2025, at 1:30 PM, earning Gold Points will no longer be possible on eligible transactions.
Luckily, accumulated Gold Points remain usable for a year from the date of acquisition. Additionally, in certain instances, Gold Points might still be granted even beyond the discontinuation date; take a look at the details provided below:
- Players will earn Gold Points if they pre-order a downloadable product before the end of the bonus period.
- Gold Points can be earned if players purchase a packaged version of the software released before the expiration.
- Also, suppose players purchase Nintendo Switch (OLED model) White/Customized, Nintendo Switch Customization, or Nintendo Switch Lite Yellow/Turquoise/Grey/Coral/Blue before the reward expiration date and time. In that case, they will be able to earn Gold Points. Check out more details about earning Gold Points here.
