As a lifelong Nintendo enthusiast who grew up with a Game Boy Color and Super NES nestled in my hands, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia when I hear about another remastered classic game coming to the Switch. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is just the latest addition to Nintendo’s growing library of revamped classics, which includes titles like Super Mario 3D All-Stars and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

However, I can’t help but feel a sense of disappointment as well.
