Nintendo’s Recent FCC Filing Was For An Alarm Clock Called Alarmo

As a long-time Nintendo fan who’s been through countless mornings with Mario and friends, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Alarmo interactive alarm clock! Growing up, I remember waking up to the soothing melodies of Super Mario Bros or the captivating worlds of The Legend of Zelda. Now, Nintendo is taking it to a whole new level by incorporating these iconic games into an alarm clock that reacts to my movements!

In the month of September, a filing at the Federal Communications Commission hinted at an upcoming device from Nintendo. Not long after, this device has been unveiled, as Nintendo has formally declared its interactive alarm clock, named Alarmo.

This innovative clock incorporates a variety of audios and visuals from diverse Nintendo games, along with responding to your physical movements.

Nintendo presents Alarmo, an engaging alarm clock that brings a touch of playfulness to your mornings. Wake up to lively animations, sounds, and characters from beloved games. Plus, you can snooze the alarm with simple gestures or end it by getting out of bed using the motion sensor.

Nintendo communicated that they currently have 35 stages derived from five distinct titles. These games encompass Pikmin 4, Ring Fit Adventure, Splatoon 3, Super Mario Odyssey, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Additional alarms will be accessible via free updates in the future, such as those for Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

You can operate this gadget without using your hands, as gestures are employed to silence the alarm or simply by getting up to switch it off. If the alarm fails to awaken you, you’ll receive a visit from characters associated with the selected scene that you’ve chosen instead.

Should you linger in bed for too long, your alarm might grow increasingly insistent, and eventually, someone like Bowser (from Nintendo) may come to encourage you to rise and shine.

The clock will also track sleep patterns such as movement in your sleep.

In early 2025, Alarmo is set to launch in both the U.S. and Canada, priced at $100. But if you’re a subscriber of Nintendo Switch Online, you have the opportunity to purchase it prior to its release for the wider public.
