In Nioh 3, Spirit Force is a key resource for combat. It fuels your Guardian Spirit’s special moves, letting you create impressive and effective combos. Many players use Spirit Force without fully understanding how it works, but if you want to build a powerful character in Nioh 3, it’s important to learn everything about this resource and how to maximize its potential.
Nioh 3 Spirit Force Mechanic
Spirit Force is what you use to activate your Guardian Spirit’s abilities. Each Guardian Spirit in Nioh 3 has several skills – often attacks – and you need Spirit Force to use them.
Guardian Spirit skills are incredibly effective, dealing significant damage to both regular enemies and those with Ki. Hitting a yokai with one of these skills lowers their maximum Ki, making it easier to knock them off balance. This is particularly helpful during boss fights in Nioh 3.
Guardian Spirit abilities don’t cost Ki, and you can activate them even if your stance has been broken. This lets you escape tough spots or continue your attacks without using up all your Ki.
How to Get Spirit Force in Nioh 3
Okay, so I finally beat my first Lesser Crucible, and it was a game-changer! As soon as I did, I unlocked this awesome mechanic where I could actually use the Guardian Spirit skills. Basically, Nekomata showed up and gave me the power to use these skills with all my spirits – even the ones I haven’t gotten yet! It’s seriously cool being able to utilize their abilities now.
You gain Spirit Force by attacking enemies. Each successful hit fills a bar located under your Life and Ki bars, and also charges the circle showing your Guardian Spirit skill. You can also quickly gain Spirit Force by using items like Lantern Plant Fruits.
You can boost your Spirit Force limit by using Prestige in the Titles section of the Tactics menu.
As a big Nioh 3 player, I’ve learned that gear can have special boosts, and some of them really affect how quickly you build up Spirit Force. If you’re like me and love using your Guardian Spirit’s abilities a lot, you’ll definitely want to focus on finding items that help you generate Spirit Force faster or use it more efficiently. It makes a huge difference!
Each Guardian Spirit starts with one unique skill. You can unlock additional skills by breaking Crucible cores or fulfilling the specific conditions outlined for each skill.
