No Man’s Sky Reveals Patch Notes for New February 2026 Update

As a big No Man’s Sky fan, I just checked out the patch notes for Update 6.22! It looks like this update isn’t adding anything completely new to the game, but it’s fixing a bunch of bugs and issues that have popped up since the Remnant update. Basically, the developers are working to make the game run smoother and be more enjoyable for everyone – which is awesome!

As we move into 2026, No Man’s Sky continues to thrive. On February 11th, Hello Games launched the Remnant update, a significant and free addition to the game’s ever-expanding universe. This update gives players new tasks, like cleaning up planets polluted with industrial waste. To assist with this, they added the Gravitino Coil – a gravity-based attachment for your multitool – and improved the Colossus Exocraft, among other features. A special Remnant expedition was also introduced, offering players a brand new exosuit armor set as a reward. While players are enjoying the new content, some minor bugs have been reported.

No Man’s Sky Update 6.22 Fixes Issues Related to Remnant Update

Hello Games is already working to improve some recent issues in No Man’s Sky, and Update 6.22 is their latest step. The update focuses on fixes for the Gravitino Coil and Exocraft. The Gravitino Coil, a type of gravity gun, now deals more damage and stuns enemies better when launching objects, and it’s also better at attracting armored Sentinel drones. The Exocraft’s mechanical legs have been adjusted to prevent them from getting stuck on the landscape, and the driving camera has been improved. One change that’s proven a bit unpopular is to the mining laser, which now uses fuel as it was originally designed to. Some players enjoyed being able to use it without consuming resources, so they’re disappointed with this correction.

Beyond fixing issues that came with the Remnant update for No Man’s Sky, the developers also tackled bugs specific to certain gaming platforms. Update 6.22 included improvements to how things look on PC, and resolved visual problems on both the original PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. They also fixed a problem with the field of view settings on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, the update didn’t address crashing problems reported by players on Xbox consoles. Many Xbox Series X/S players have recently experienced frequent crashes, which are disrupting their gameplay.

Update 6.22 is rolling out gradually. It’s currently available for PC players on Steam, but those on other platforms are still waiting their turn to download it. Hello Games says they’ll release it to all platforms as quickly as they can. Xbox players, in particular, will need to see if this update resolves the crashing problems some have been experiencing on that platform.

Hello Games continues to welcome feedback from players and encourages them to report any bugs they find. This update, the third since the Remnant release, focuses on fixing the most common issues players have been experiencing.

The developers are continuing to fix bugs as they’re found, ensuring players have a smooth experience with the game. Though Hello Games is also working on their new project, Light No Fire, they’ll still support No Man’s Sky. Interestingly, some features originally developed for Light No Fire have actually been added to No Man’s Sky. We don’t know when we’ll get another update on Light No Fire, but No Man’s Sky players can look forward to more new content in the meantime.
