As a devoted fan who has been following NPC Miles Morales, or Malik Ambersley as he’s known off-screen, I must say his journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment he donned that Spider-Man suit and started spewing out those iconic voice lines, he captivated our hearts and minds.
In recent times, it’s likely that you’ve come across someone online dressed as Miles Morales, mimicking a non-player character (NPC) in live streams. This individual has been one of the rare ones maintaining this trick – until now.
The ‘NPC trend’ went wild on sites like TikTok a while back, and ‘NPC Miles Morales’ was by far the most prolific creator to do it. He’d go on stream for hours on end, performing Miles Morales’s (Spider-Man) voice lines and ‘animations’ in exchange for gifts and donations.
After several months, he’s made public his decision to move on from what he was doing and instead focus on a more conventional streaming career.

As Malik Ambersley-turned-NPC Miles Morales in the gaming universe since mid-2023, I’ve found myself thrust into the limelight – some love me, others can’t stand me. Streaming my adventures has brought its share of challenges: I’ve been mugged, had run-ins with law enforcement, and even found myself in a few brawls. Yet, through it all, I’ve managed to keep Miles Morales’s character intact, barely breaking character.
Through his efforts, he managed to accumulate a substantial sum of money. To be clear, though, he’s worked hard for it. The tasks he performs are physically challenging and call for a high level of confidence – which ultimately led him to achieve an iconic role in Kai Cenat’s recent Mafia 2 streamathon through his daring exploits.
With his partnership with Cenat, Amberseyl has grown more prominent than ever before. In a recent broadcast, he announced his decision to retire from wearing the Miles Morales costume and instead focus on real-life streaming, similar to what Kai Cenat is known for.
He said he’d ‘rather be known for being himself’.
