Nvidia To Launch Three RTX 50 Series Graphics Cards At CES 2025, It’s Claimed

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation at the announcement of Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. The rumored specs, particularly for the RTX 5070, have me scratching my head. I remember when the RTX 4070 Ti was a powerhouse, and now it seems the RTX 5070 might be a step back in terms of cores and SMs. But hey, we’ve seen stranger things in this industry, right?

In January, we can expect the latest lineup of Nvidia graphics cards to be unveiled, as per a recent report by Wccftech. It is anticipated that the announcement for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs will take place at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

This reveal will include the Nvidia RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070.

Beyond the news of a launch at CES, Wccftech provides projected specifications for each card, all of which stem from their confidential sources. It’s essential to approach these details cautiously, as they haven’t been verified by TopMob yet, or until an official statement is released.

One of the biggest bits of information from the report is that the RTX 5070 will have fewer cores and SMs than the RTX 4070 Ti. The RTX 4070 Ti has 7,680 CUDA Cores with 60 SMs. If the chip reportedly being used on the RTX 5070 is fully enabled, it can support a max of 6,400 CUDA Cores and 50 SMs. That said, it’s worth noting that they are different generation graphics cards. Until we can actual test out they perform, it’s unknown how much of a difference there will be in performance.
