The weekend is just around the corner, but first, let’s conquer today’s NYT Connections puzzle! I’ve got all the hints and solutions you need to solve it quickly. If you’re feeling stuck, you’ve come to the right place – this guide will help you ace the challenge.
Read on to secure the tips and answers that you need to keep that streak going.
What is NYT Connections?
I should probably give you some background information before sharing today’s hints for the NYT Connections game.
NYT Connections launched in June 2023 as the newest addition to the New York Times’ collection of games. It quickly became popular, and for good reason! This free game is easy to access for anyone around the world, whether they’re using a computer or the mobile app.
NYT Connections is a great way to pass the time, like when you’re commuting or waiting for your coffee.
But how do you play NYT Connections?

It’s relatively simple, and that’s why it’s the best New York Times game, in my opinion.
Each day, the New York Times will give you a set of 16 words. Your challenge is to organize them into four groups of four, based on what they have in common. There’s only one correct solution to each puzzle, and sometimes the words can be misleading, making it a bit challenging to solve.
The words are also color-coded to show how challenging they are: yellow is the easiest, followed by blue, green, and then purple, which is the most difficult.
It’s important to remember you only get four tries each day. Use them all up, and you won’t be able to solve today’s NYT Connections puzzle – the game will be over.

Here are the NYT Connections words from today’s puzzle, #893:

- PASTE

And here are the hints I can offer for today’s NYT Connections:
- Yellow – Think of things you’d literally apply to bond surfaces; one is more “medical wall stuff” than “craft glue.
- Green – These are words for a light touch; one of them can be romantic or just feather-light.
- Blue – Mix inner anatomy and outer protection; two are internal tissues, two are what you see or what caps it.
- Purple – Say them out loud. One hides a “decay” pun that echoes D-K, and another rhymes its way to S-A.
Here’s the final warning before we get to the NYT Connections answers for today, November 20.
