What is NYT Connections?
Before I share today’s hints for the NYT Connections game, I want to quickly give you some background information.
NYT Connections launched in June 2023 as the newest game from the New York Times. It quickly became popular, and for good reason! This free game is easy to access for anyone around the world, whether they’re using a computer or the mobile app.
NYT Connections is a great way to pass the time, whether you’re commuting or waiting for something like coffee.
But how do you play NYT Connections?

It’s relatively simple, and that’s why it’s the best New York Times game, in my opinion.
Each day, the New York Times will give you a puzzle with 16 words. Your job is to divide those words into four groups of four, based on what they have in common. There’s only one correct solution to each puzzle, and sometimes the words can be misleading, making it a bit challenging.
As a fan, I really appreciate how they’ve color-coded the words! It makes learning so much easier. They’re colored yellow, blue, green, and purple, and that actually shows you how hard they are – yellow being the easiest and purple being the most challenging. It’s a great way to see your progress!
The important thing to remember is you only get four attempts each day. Use them all up, and you won’t be able to solve today’s NYT Connections puzzle – that’s when the game ends.
