As a long-time enthusiast of PC gaming and a frequent user of NZXT products, I must admit that the recent allegations against the company have left me feeling quite disheartened. Having invested in several NZXT items over the years, I’ve always appreciated their quality and customer service, but the claims made by Gamers Nexus in their video are hard to ignore.
NZXT, a well-known brand that sells PC components and accessories, has taken to social media to say they are carefully examining the situation following accusations that have recently surfaced. In a YouTube video, Gamers Nexus presented an hour-long expose on what they termed as a ‘deceptive PC scheme’, making serious claims against the company, such as telling outright falsehoods.
In the beginning of the video, Gamers Nexus announced they’d cancelled a $23,000 advertisement series that NZXT had scheduled to run in the fourth quarter.
NZXT Scam Claims Surface
The Gamers Nexus video, lasting an hour, starts off by stating that the new computer rental service launched by NZXT is potentially fraudulent. They support this assertion with a graph showing that if you rent a PC for 5 years, it would cost you approximately $15,540, but at the end of those five years, you wouldn’t own anything, unlike if you were to buy the parts outright.
In simpler terms, when you buy a PC from NZXT, you’d typically receive an RTX 4090 graphics card. However, if you opt for renting the same PC, it would only come with an RTX 4080 Super instead. This means that, in most cases, consumers end up getting less value when they choose to rent rather than buy.
According to an extensive analysis by Gamers Nexus, it was found that NZXT’s product specifications can be misleading, their customer service frequently directs users to broken or inactive links, and unexpectedly, the rental fee was significantly increased with no prior notice given.

In one part of their discussion, Gamers Nexus consults with an attorney to examine the legality of NZXT’s rental service. This in-depth analysis resulted in NZXT addressing the issue through posts on their social media platforms.
To the NZXT community,
We’ve heard your concerns.
1) We’ve noticed the latest accusations directed towards us and are currently examining the circumstances carefully. Be confident that we take this matter seriously and will provide a formal update on our findings shortly.
Thank you for your patience as we work to provide clarity.
In simpler terms, Gamers Nexus concluded with a strong criticism, detailing the current situation of NZXT, which has undergone changes due to recent restructuring attempts.
That NZXT is gone. It has been consumed by the mega-corporate overlords.
This could be a huge pitfall for NZXT if the community’s response is anything to go by.
