April 15 Update: Jeff Grubb has confirmed that Oblivion is expected to release as a shadowdrop next week, after April 21. He stated, ‘Regarding Oblivion and its upcoming shadowdrop, the week of April 21 means it will be in the last week of this month – essentially next week. I’ve received independent verification that this is when it will happen.’
The initial tale discusses an early assertion that the Oblivion remake would debut on April 3. However, the source subsequently revised this claim, indicating it would be released around April 21. Not long after, Detective Seeds’ social media accounts were hacked and content was wiped out. Now, the deleted material has reappeared in his feed again.
Original coverage continues…
It’s been buzzing around that the long-awaited remake of Oblivion might unexpectedly drop tomorrow, on April 3. Previous whispers hinted at a release date sooner than anticipated, with April being mentioned as the month for the big reveal.
In Our Dreams
Despite several whispers about the Oblivion remake not being too far-fetched, there’s no confirmed news on the project so far. According to the buzz, Virtuous Games is working on it as a complete overhaul of the 2006 game using Unreal Engine 5. It’s been hinted that the gameplay mechanics and combat systems have undergone significant enhancements in this remake.
It seems promising, yet we’re entirely unaware of its details, such as the platforms where it might be launched, its potential price range, and what its visual appearance will be.
Back on March 13th, I excitedly shared on social media that some news about the Oblivion remake might pop up as early as April! I’ve got my fingers crossed that the launch date for this game could potentially arrive before the initial June goal.
April is earlier than June, right?
Now, Detective Seeds has posted on Twitter with an all-new claim:

@DetectiveSeeds
From what I understand, we can expect the Oblivion remake to come out at the end of the upcoming week, probably on Thursday, April 3rd. After that, Indiana Jones will be available on PS5 on the 16th, and exactly 13 days later, Forza Horizon 5 will hit the shelves on the PS5 as well, on the 29th.

And here’s the updated claim that was posted a few days later:

@DetectiveSeeds
Check for the release of the Oblivion remake game around April 21st, following the conclusion of the ESO anniversary event. It seems there was a misunderstanding about the initial timeline, but I assure you that it’s in the works and will be released after the event finishes, as confirmed by multiple sources. For those who have doubts, rest assured that this project is genuine.

He elaborated on his comments, subtly shifting blame for the rumor onto an unnamed party, stating: “I’m merely passing on what I heard from a confidential source.
There’s some uncertainty about whether it will happen this week or the next, but they were quite certain that it would occur eventually.
Indeed, the truth remains elusive, as we may find it tomorrow, next week, or perhaps in June. Surprisingly, no new information has surfaced so far. However, an Elder Scrolls game using UE5, whether a new installment or remake, would be a highly anticipated arrival at this point.
