Need for Speed players should be aware that Need for Speed Rivals will no longer be playable after October 7th. Originally launched in 2013, Need for Speed Rivals was created by Ghost Games and Criterion Games and generally received good feedback. Fans actually came to appreciate Need for Speed Rivals even more as later games in the series weren’t as well-received, and the franchise hasn’t fully bounced back from that since.
Need for Speed Rivals was especially well-received for its online multiplayer features. The game’s AllDrive system lets players share the open world with friends and compete in standard online races. However, fans hoping to keep playing Need for Speed Rivals online should know that the game’s servers are shutting down soon.
The servers for Need for Speed Rivals will be going offline on Tuesday, October 7th. After that date, fans of Need for Speed will no longer be able to use any of the online features in Rivals. While you can still play the game offline, the experience will be significantly diminished, as Rivals was primarily designed for online multiplayer. If you haven’t had enough of Need for Speed Rivals‘ online multiplayer, be sure to play as much as you can before the servers shut down on October 7.

Then, Madden NFL 22 and FIFA 23 are scheduled to stop working on October 20th and 30th, respectively. If you’re into racing, get this: more are going! More EA games might stop working online this year, though none have been officially announced yet. If you enjoy playing these games, it’s a good idea to note when their online services will end and try to play the online modes again before they’re gone for good.
