It’s no wonder that One Piece, one of Japan’s most prominent media franchises, has been making headlines recently. Not too long ago, Netflix disclosed details about the second season of the live-action One Piece TV series, slated for release in 2026. In quick succession, they also announced a collaboration with The LEGO Group to create LEGO sets and figurines based on the show’s settings and characters. On the animation front, the One Piece anime is currently in its 21st season, and its latest episodes have been met with great acclaim.
Another aspect of the One Piece franchise that has been generating buzz lately is the One Piece Trading Card Game, which isn’t frequently discussed in mainstream gaming forums but enjoys a significant following among dedicated fans. Not long ago, it was disclosed that the One Piece TCG will receive a new reprint collection this year in regions where English is spoken. Although reprints for games such as this one are not uncommon or unusual, it’s the content of this forthcoming set that makes it stand out.
The One Piece TCG is Getting a Big Reprint Set This October
On October 3rd, Bandai Namco will unveil a significant expansion pack for the One Piece Trading Card Game (TCG) titled PRB-02: One Piece Card The Best Vol.2. This set’s name might seem cumbersome, but it promises to be groundbreaking for many One Piece TCG enthusiasts. Although it is a reprint set, PRB-02 will introduce some novel cards, along with new parallel art versions, DON!! variants, and enhanced foiling. However, the most significant aspect of this release is that it will include popular cards from numerous earlier sets released since the debut of the One Piece Card Game in 2022. Many of these cards are highly valued within the One Piece community, so their reprinting makes them more accessible than ever before.
Bandai has announced that popular characters from the One Piece Trading Card Game, such as Boa Hancock, Cavendish, and Sanji, will be featured in PRB-02. Notably, Monkey D. Luffy (061) is one of the cards being reprinted in this set. This card was initially released in the Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection (EB-02), which came out recently to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime. Due to its effectiveness in competitive play and scarcity, the value of this card has increased significantly on secondary markets. The alternate art version of Monkey D. Luffy (061) is currently selling for approximately $65 on platforms like TCGPlayer.
Cards Like Monkey D. Luffy (061) Are Going to Become a Lot Cheaper Thanks to This Reprint

The cards included in PRB-02 are currently quite expensive, but as the release date approaches, their prices are expected to drop substantially. In fact, just the announcement of this reprint set has already led to a decrease of around $25 in the retail value of cards like Monkey D. Luffy (061). With PRB-02, collectors won’t have to spend a fortune to acquire their desired cards anymore.
Cards Featured in PRB-02 Will Be Safe from the Upcoming Standard Rotation Next Year
Beyond lower costs, the arrival of the reprint set for the One Piece Trading Card Game (TCG) will bring another significant advantage to players: it will ensure that specific cards will not be phased out in the future. Notably, Bandai has recently revealed that, for the first time, cards from older sets will no longer be part of the Standard rotation in the One Piece Card Game after April 2026. However, the cards included in PRB-02 will continue to be tournament-legal and playable in competitive matches, regardless of their original release dates within the game. Essentially, One Piece TCG players can rest assured that these cards won’t lose their relevance for competitive play anytime soon.
