Octolock Away the Pain Mission Guide for Pokemon Legends Z-A

After completing the second Hyperspace Lumiose survey in Pokemon Legends Z-A, players will unlock new Side Missions, including one titled ‘Octolock Away the Pain‘.

You’ll find the person who gives you this quest crouching near the eastern entrance/exit – it’s a bit of a sunken area. He needs help with his back and asks you to find a Pokémon that knows the move Octolock. This move is learned by Jujitsu, a Fighting-type Pokémon.

To get a Grapploct that knows the move Octolock, you’ll first need to catch and evolve a Tentacool. Here’s a guide on how to do it!

How to Complete Side Mission 138 (Octolock Away the Pain) in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Finding Clobbopus

From what I understand, the only place to find a Clobbopus in Pokemon Legends Z-A is in a 1-Star Hyperspace Wild Zone within Lumiose City. You’ll know you’re in the right place if you see Clobbopus’s faded outline on the list of Pokemon available to catch.

If you’re not sure how it looks, you can check out the images above to get a better idea.

Because the Pokémon appearing in these small areas are chosen at random, you can try resting and changing the time of day to refresh them until you find one with the Tantrum Pokémon. When I went into a Hyperspace Zone, I quickly found a bunch of Clobbopus near where I started, but your experience might be different.

Evolving Clobbopus into Grapploct

To get a Pokémon that knows the move Octolock, you need to evolve Clobbopus after it learns the move Taunt. The Clobbopus we caught was level 23 and hadn’t learned Taunt yet.

Give it Exp. Candy or train it through battles, and it will eventually learn the move. It can learn it once it reaches level 34.

Assign the move ‘Taunt’ to Clobbopus, and you should see an evolution icon appear, meaning it’s now able to evolve into Grapploct.

Okay, so the moment my Clobbopus evolved into Grapploct, it instantly learned Octolock! Now I just need to head back down to the sewers and use it on Kazuki’s back – that’ll finish up that Side Mission. Easy enough!

Reward for Completing Side Mission 138

As a reward for completing it, he will give you 3800 Poke Dollars and a TM for Facade.

Facade is a Normal-type move that becomes more powerful if the Pokémon using it is already affected by a status condition, such as being asleep or burned.
