Over the past few months, Elbaf has presented some of the most thrilling information, and it continues to captivate readers with each new chapter. The latest chapter 1136 was particularly significant as it offered glimpses into a brand-new era featuring the original Sun God and the liberator warrior, Nika. For the first time, Oda has provided fans with a sneak peek of what the original Sun God might have looked like.
The Original Sun God Nika And Their Origin From Elbaf
- Nika Hails From Elbaf
- Nika Can Bring Liberation Or Destruction
In the popular series One Piece, many fans are well-acquainted with the Sun God named Nika. He’s highly respected among the gods of the One Piece world for valid reasons. Initially appearing in the narrative through the character of Who’s Who, Nika was portrayed as a deity whom slaves held dear. When Who’s Who was imprisoned due to his inability to protect the Gomu Gomu no Mi, he was sarcastically urged by guards to appeal for help from the Sun God, a request that underscored the faith of the slaves in Marijoa. They fervently believed that Nika would eventually appear, liberating them from their suffering and setting them free from bondage, bringing smiles and cheer to their faces.
Nicknamed the Warrior of Liberation, Nika is described as a man with an infectious laughter, a rubbery physique, and extraordinary abilities. In battle, he’s unpredictable, with his only constraint being his imagination. He wields the most preposterous power in existence, and this is the power that Luffy now controls through the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.
According to Harley, our world has already been destroyed twice. — Jarul
One Piece’s Elbaf arc provided fans with extensive knowledge about Nika. Not only did it establish that Nika possesses his unique personality within the fruit, and ultimately selected Luffy, but it also disclosed that before Luffy, there were two distinct forms of Nika. The other Nika that viewers are familiar with is none other than Joy Boy. He lived during the Void Century and was born in the magnificent and prosperous Ancient Kingdom. He was the initial pirate to venture into the sea and presented the greatest danger to the world’s nations, eventually prompting them to unite and form a powerful alliance known as The Alliance, with the intention of defeating the Ancient Kingdom.
Indeed, well before the time of the Ancient Kingdom and Joy Boy, there resided an earlier embodiment of the Sun God, who was the original one. Vegapunk revealed to fans that the roots of this Sun God traced back to Elbaf, making him a native giant born in this land.
The True Design Of Sun God Nika
Oda Finally Shows The Original Sun God To The Fans
Fans had wondered if Oda would ever reveal the true form of the Sun God Nika to them, but chapter 1136 in One Piece certainly shed some light on this question. In the Elbaf storyline, readers finally got a glimpse of the actual Sun God for the first time. It’s not surprising that the Sun God holds great reverence among the Giants, as he is their sole deity. Ancient texts known as Harley suggest that the world of One Piece has been destroyed twice before in history. Each time the destruction occurred, the name of the Sun God Nika was called out – implying that Nika is closely connected to the end of the world itself.
In times of great need, Nika always descends upon the world! – Clapp
Regardless if Nika is the world’s destroyer or savior, Giants of Elbaf remain uncertain. However, they are certain that whenever significant global changes occur, Nika is always present. This is why leaders worldwide dread Nika’s emergence, as it often signals upheaval in the existing order.
In the same storyline, we’re introduced to the character Jarul, who presents the first appearance of the deity Nika, the Sun God. Unlike Luffy, Nika is depicted wearing only a lion skin loincloth and a sash, with white clouds encircling his neck as a symbol of his divine power. His long white hair is even longer than Luffy’s, and all his attire is described as being white, a detail familiar to fans through Luffy. A striking contrast between Nika and Luffy is that the Sun God carries a sword and shield, while Luffy does not. Nika adopts a similar pose as Luffy, and he sports an enormous grin, which adds to the anticipation among fans for more appearances of this original deity.
Who Did The Original Nika Fight Long Ago?
The Real Nika Could’ve Fought the Enemy Of The World
In ancient times, it remains a mystery who Nika truly battled, but one thing is certain: his emergence was indeed the result of some catastrophic event. Interestingly, Nika only appears when the world undergoes significant transformation. Notably, Nika was instrumental in the destruction of the world on two occasions—once through Joy Boy and once through the original Sun God. Fans are aware that the World Government orchestrated the destruction of the world 900 years ago. However, no specific details have been given about how or why the world was destroyed long ago. It’s possible that the legendary giant serpent from Elbaf folklore, referenced by Dorry and Brogy, could have been Nika’s adversary. Alternatively, it might have been the Sea God itself, with Imu potentially being a reincarnation of this deity, much like Luffy possesses the power of the Nika fruit. What is undeniable is that there are numerous secrets yet to be unveiled in One Piece, and the intrigue continues to grow.
