Official Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Preseason Patch Notes

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Treyarch is really stepping up their game with this latest Black Ops 6 preseason patch! The focus on improving cover and audio quality is much appreciated, as it adds depth to the gameplay experience.

Tomorrow marks the official release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and today, Treyarch has unveiled a collection of pre-season patch notes post the most recent update. Here’s what you can expect from the latest updates in Black Ops 6 pre-season patch notes.

Black Ops 6 Preseason Patch Notes

Players have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for quite some time, and the excitement surrounding its release is palpable due to all the exciting new elements it offers. The buzz about this game is simply off the charts.

So, what was everything included in the preseason patch notes?

Campaign

In contrast to previous Call of Duty campaigns, the storyline of Black Ops 6 stands out distinctively. It unfolds post-the events of Black Ops Cold War and picks up where the ’80s flashbacks in Black Ops II left off.

According to the developers’ updates (patch notes), Treyarch plans to offer both classic and innovative content in Black Ops 6, satisfying players’ longing for the past while also paving the way for future developments within the series.

1) In the game, there’s a personalized base known as “The Rook” that players can customize. This base serves as a preparation area for equipping weapons and other items before embarking on each mission. Additionally, the campaign offers perks that players can employ in Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies modes.

Zombies

Once again, zombies have returned! Previous versions of Black Ops were well-known for their exceptional Zombie modes, and it appears that Black Ops 6 is shaping up to follow the same trend.

It’s exciting news that Round-Based Zombies will be back at launch, featuring two zombie-themed maps to explore.

  • Liberty Falls
  • Terminus

Obviously, as the game progresses, more Zombie maps will be released.

On October 25, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time, both the Main Mission and all associated Side Missions will become active. Get ready to engage in combat! It seems that Der Wunderfizz will make its debut in the game after Round 25 as well.

The updates likewise disclosed that players will be able to collect some Quirky Blueberry-like Creatures within the game following these stages.

  • Round 15-29: 1 Whimsical GobbleGum
  • Round 30-44: 2 Whimsical GobbleGums
  • Round 45+: 3 Whimsical GobbleGums

Zombies are SO back.

Multiplayer

In the preseason updates for Black Ops 6, Call of Duty has implemented significant changes to its multiplayer mode. Here’s a rundown of what you should expect.

Weapons

At its initial unveiling, Call of Duty declared that Black Ops 6 would feature 33 weapons upon its debut, each of which could be tailored to suit individual playing styles. Prior to the game’s launch, though, Call of Duty has made some adjustments to the weaponry.

Weapon Balance

  • Aim Assist weaker at point-blank ranges
  • Improved Pistol and Dedicated Melee swap speeds
  • Adjustments to sway, bob and overall weapon motions to improve point of aim when entering ADS
  • Improved Depth of Field across all Weapons

Movement

  • Added a toggle option for Corner Slicing
  • Added an option to set the hold time to perform a Dive to Prone or Slide depending on your Slide/Dive Behavior setting

Regarding changes for multiplayer sessions in Call of Duty, several modifications have been applied to the playable maps, as tested during the beta phase. Here’s a rundown of all the multiplayer map updates detailed in the game’s release notes:

Skyline

  • Expanded the cover points around the hot tub at the center of the map.
  • Added new planters as cover near the far spawn point.
  • Added multiple cover options throughout the map.

Scud

  • Adjusted bullet penetration values on the satellite dish panels to allow additional bullet penetration.
    • The concrete wall at the main overwatch is now broken out, which will allow more bullet penetration to make it slightly less powerful.
    • Panels are doubled up at the side overwatch to still amount a small amount of bullet penetration where there was previously none.
  • Made additional cover improvements throughout the map.

Rewind

  • Made cover improvements across multiple sightlines.

Audio

The audio of the game has been modified as well. They’ve unveiled a fresh addition known as HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function), accessible through the Universal Profile in the Enhanced Headphone Mode. This new feature is free for everyone to use.

What exactly is HRTF? It’s a novel audio technology that immerses players deeply into the gaming experience by providing a more intentional and spatial sound environment.

Anti-Cheat

Fortunately, Treyarch is set to intensify its efforts against cheaters by enhancing its Anti-Cheat system. The upgraded RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system will incorporate a variety of features, as detailed in their recent patch notes:

  • Kernel-Level Driver (PC) detection and monitoring updates across all protected titles, including Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty®: Warzone™
  • #TeamRICOCHET mitigations live in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, including Damage Shield, Disarm, Splat, and more
  • Machine-learning behavioral systems deployed to increase speed of detection
  • Machine-learning detection models were added to analyze gameplay combating aim bots

Weapon Damage

The last bit of information included in the Black Ops 6 preseason patch notes was dedicated to weapon damage. The team at Treyarch is creating a new Weapon Damage Adjustment table for the game to help establish better definitions of weapon damage adjustments.

The table aims to clearly show modifications made to the weapons throughout the game’s varying seasons, ensuring that no player gets perplexed about alterations concerning their preferred firearms.
