I’ve noticed that over the past year, “Solo Leveling” has been creating quite a buzz online. The much-anticipated second season was released earlier this year, in 2025, and it turned out to be an even bigger success than its first run. Since then, “Solo Leveling” has garnered several prestigious accolades, such as Anime of the Year, with Sung Jinwoo claiming the title for Best Main Character.
It appears that Solo Leveling‘s success online isn’t mirrored in physical sales, as its latest volume didn’t make the top 20 list of Adult Graphic Novels for July 2025. On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen continues to rule the charts with its older volumes. Clearly, Solo Leveling is facing a significant challenge from Jujutsu Kaisen, and the gap between their sales isn’t small at all.
Solo Leveling is Big, But It Can’t Beat Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen Dominated Sales In Adult Graphic Novels
Solo Leveling has gained a significant following, yet its sales figures seem oddly low. Some fans may speculate that the lack of recent releases is the cause for its decline in popularity, but that assumption is incorrect. In fact, the latest volume (Volume 12) was published just last month in June, which should be too recent for a series of this magnitude to slip off the rankings without a valid explanation.

In May, the English version of Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 26, currently leading the charts, was released. Interestingly, Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t just dominating with this volume – its previous volume, Number 25, is in 7th place as well. Even the first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen managed to make it into the top 10, ranking at number 9. This means that three of Jujutsu Kaisen’s volumes, all older than Solo Leveling’s most recent release, are performing significantly better in the charts.
Here’s the full ranking for fans that are curious:
1. Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 26
2. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run Vol. 2 HC
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin HC
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II – Re-Evolution HC
5. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run Vol. 1 HC
6. All-Star Superman: DC Compact Comics Edition
7. Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 25
8. The Summer Hikaru Died Vol. 1
9. Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 1
10. One Piece Vol. 109
11. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol. 1
12. Gachiakuta Vol. 1
13. One Piece Omnibus Edition Vol. 1
14. Blue Lock Vol. 20
15. Berserk Deluxe Vol. 1 HC
16. My Hero Academia Vol. 41
17. Chainsaw Man Vol. 18
18. Blue Lock Vol. 1
19. Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Vol. 22
20. Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. A Magic: The Gathering Manga Vol. 4

The fact that Solo Leveling’s latest volume has struggled to maintain its position on the charts for longer than a month certainly sparks curiosity about its longevity and raises questions regarding its enduring popularity. Fingers crossed that it picks up steam in the coming days.
Currently, there are two seasons of Solo Leveling available for viewing, with one featuring 12 episodes and the other 13, totaling 25 episodes in all. These episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll. As we wait for updates about season 3, reading the Manhwa could provide an engaging experience for those eagerly anticipating more content.
