In Generation 2, for the first time, Baby Pokemon made their debut with the launch of Pokemon Gold and Silver. A total of eight baby species were introduced at this point, including beloved characters like Togepi and Pichu. In the game Pokemon GO, players can only obtain baby Pokemon by hatching eggs; they are not found in the wild. Excitingly, Pokemon GO enthusiasts will soon have an opportunity to collect even more Baby Pokemon due to an upcoming event.

From May 2nd at 10 am until May 7th, 2025 at 8 pm local time, the Pokemon GO Growing Up event is happening unintentionally. In this duration, players can expect to hatch Riolu, Happiny, and Wimpod from 2 km eggs, Mime Jr. from 5 km eggs, and Toxel from 10 km eggs. The creatures hatched will have a higher chance of being shiny, with Toxel potentially still hatching from 10 km eggs even after the event concludes. During this timeframe, players might find more chances to discover shiny Magikarp, Swablu, Wimpod, Pokemon XXS, and XXL in the wild, as well as hatching shiny Wimpod. Additionally, players will earn double XP when evolving their Pokemon and double Candy when hatching eggs.
