OMG! Unreleased Nintendo Switch Games Just Leaked!

Summary

  • Unreleased Nintendo Switch games like Ridge Racer have leaked online.
  • Leak includes footage from a game called Harmony and development builds of other titles.

A number of unpublished Nintendo Switch games appear to have surfaced on the internet, offering glimpses into potential games that never made it to store shelves. Among these leaked titles are a Ridge Racer version and a LEGO Civilization game, along with others. It’s not unusual for video games to enter development only to fall short of release due to various hurdles such as financial difficulties, technical complications, or shifting market trends. Now, it looks like several Nintendo Switch games that didn’t quite make it to completion have unexpectedly emerged online.

As the anticipated release of Nintendo Switch 2 draws near, enthusiasts eagerly await an action-packed 2025 from the legendary gaming brand. Among the many timeless games in Nintendo’s vast library, the original “Ridge Racer,” first introduced in 1993, is one of them. Remarkably, the “Ridge Racer” game, unofficially released online due to a leak, has resurfaced recently, suggesting it was under development as early as 2017 but never officially confirmed or launched. With this latest revelation, the once-canceled game and other unannounced titles have been thrust back into the limelight.

A recent Twitter post by resetthepicture has unveiled an early version of the cancelled Ridge Racer game, produced by Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, that’s now circulating on the internet. This prototype was made using Unreal Engine 4 and featured video clips of the unreleased title. Moreover, a preview screen for LEGO Civilization, along with development versions of Splatoon 2, Arms, and Rime were also leaked, all allegedly found within the same development kit. It’s speculated that this footage came from a Nintendo Switch development kit that was sold online.

Leak Reveals Multiple Unreleased Nintendo Switch Games

  • Arms
  • LEGO Civilization
  • Ridge Racer
  • Rime
  • Splatoon 2

For quite some time now, the popular racing game series called Ridge Racer has produced numerous titles, maintaining its status as a fairly recognized racing brand, especially during its peak period. Not long ago, Nintendo Switch Online enriched its expanding library of N64 games by including Ridge Racer 64. Recently leaked footage, meant to be the upcoming sequel in the series, offers players a sneak peek at its visuals and limited gameplay. However, it’s uncertain if this leak will rekindle enthusiasm for the seemingly dormant franchise.

Apart from Ridge Racer, the leak uncovered a menu for the yet-to-be-released LEGO-styled game titled LEGO Civilization. This spinoff appears to be a strategy game in the style of LEGO toys. Although LEgo has produced numerous licensed video games, it looks like LEGO Civilization won’t join that list.

Video clips of an unpublicized game developed by Retro Studios were accidentally leaked online. The game, tentatively named Harmony, appears to be a puzzle-based title with a third-person perspective. Known for their work on numerous Nintendo games, it seems that this particular project was not meant to hit the shelves. At present, gaming enthusiasts can access these unreleased titles online and perhaps advocate for some of them to have a second opportunity.
