Once Human Addresses Long Queue Times and Server Problems

Highlights

  • Developers of Once Human are aware of the game’s server issues, increasing capacity limit to address long queue times.
  • Mixed player reviews highlight concerns over personal data security and cosmetic purchases in Once Human, with the server issues adding to the criticism.
  • Despite a recent server outage, the development team is working quickly to resolve issues and compensate affected players.

As a dedicated fan of Once Human, I’ve been following the game’s development closely since its release on July 9. The game’s unique survival concept and stunning graphics immediately caught my attention, and I was eager to jump into the action with my fellow players. However, it seems that not everyone has had such a smooth experience.

As a dedicated gamer of the free-to-play survival game “Once Human,” I’ve encountered some frustrating server issues. Long queue times and even a complete server outage have been acknowledged by the developers, who are actively working on resolving these problems. These challenges first emerged shortly after the game’s launch on July 9, but the significant server difficulties didn’t fully manifest until July 13.

On PC and mobile platforms, the release of Once Human drew a diverse response from gamers. Despite attracting over 18,000 reviews on Steam within four days, some players have raised concerns. These apprehensions include privacy issues regarding personal data and dissatisfaction with the game’s handling of cosmetic transactions. Consequently, only around two-thirds of players have given it a positive rating before server problems surfaced.

The developers acknowledged via their Twitter account that certain game servers were experiencing extended wait times for players. To alleviate this issue, they boosted the server capacity, enabling more users to join at once. However, they warned that this action might lead to complications such as map resources running low and players being unable to expand their “Once Human” territories. A suggested workaround proposed by the developers was for players to consider switching to less crowded servers until queue times improved.

Once Human Seemingly Suffers System-Wide Server Outages

Almost immediately after the developers announced an issue on Twitter, numerous users reported that all servers seemed to have crashed. One person mentioned that their progress in the free-to-play game wasn’t being saved correctly as well. Shockingly, some players claimed that their characters had vanished from the system entirely, leaving one user bewildered, “What’s the solution when our character has simply disappeared? Over 29 hours of hard work seemingly lost.”

The developers have been working diligently to resolve these problems, and they identified the cause and initiated repairs only fifteen minutes after the initial announcement. There is currently no information regarding character deletion from the system, but Starry Studio has assured players of some form of compensation once the repair is complete. The developer has demonstrated a dedication to addressing player complaints concerning “Once Human,” and they urge players to report any additional issues through their official social media channels.
