Once Human: Best Burn Build

Once Human: Best Burn Build

As a seasoned veteran of the game known as Once Human, I must say that the armor setup and mod combination you’ve described is nothing short of a game-changer for those who dare to wield the mighty Burn ticks. With my years of experience under the belt, I can confidently assert that this build has the potential to turn even the most timid players into fearsome Pyro warriors.

In the game “Once Human“, players have several options for character progression. For those aiming to gradually deplete enemies’ health bars with minimal interruptions, activating the Burn effect is highly recommended. Currently, it’s the only Damage Over Time (DoT) ability in the game, and it performs its role quite effectively.

Using a Burn build isn’t overly complex, although they don’t deal much initial damage without modifications. However, with the right enhancements and some of the top-tier weapons provided by Once Human, these builds can become extremely potent. This guide will walk you through all the key aspects to effectively utilize a Burn build.

Once Human Burn Build

Once Human: Best Burn Build

Slot Item Mod
Primary Weapon KVD Boom Boom Blaze Blessing
Secondary Weapon KAM Crank Flame Resonance
Helmet Heavy Duty Deviation Expert
Mask Heavy Duty Blaze Amplifier
Chest Heavy Duty Any
Gloves Grill Gloves Elemental Overload
Pants Scout Status Amplification
Boots Scout Secluded Strike
Note Prioritize building Status and Elemental DMG

As a seasoned veteran of many online gaming worlds, I’ve found that the most effective strategy for tackling high-density enemy areas like Silo Alpha or any dungeon from “Once Human” is to focus on quickly stacking Burn and improving its damage output with the right build. The KVD, in my experience, truly shines when dealing with groups of enemies due to its impressive ammo capacity and passive effect that causes targets to explode, spreading Burn throughout the fray.

To maximize your use of the KAM Crank, consider setting a Rapid Fire calibration that enhances its firing rate by 15% and reloading speed by 40%. When fully adjusted, this modification also boosts the weapon’s damage on weak spots.

In this setup, the build functions smoothly without needing the KVD Boom Boom. Instead, you can obtain the KAM Crank for free from a mystical crate in Fort Eyrie within the Red Sands region. As an alternative to using the KVD Boom Boom, consider employing the HAMR Crumble sniper rifle instead.

Armor

Once Human: Best Burn Build

The armor setup above will grant the following bonuses:

Armor Piece(s) Effects
Grill Gloves Increase Burn DMG frequency by up to 100% based on Burn stacks
Heavy Duty (3PC)
  • Max HP +10%
  • Elemental DMG +8%
  • After killing an enemy, increases Movement Speed by 20% for 2s and Elemental DMG by 40%, which decays over 8s.
Scout (2PC)
  • Max HP +10%
  • Weapon DMG +8%

If you can amass sufficient Starchrom in the game ‘Once Human’, it would be advantageous to strive for the Shelterer set from the Wish Machine. This elite Status/Elemental Damage set significantly boosts the damage of Burn ticks when enemies are struck by your gunfire. Obtain all four pieces of the Shelterer set and retain the Grill Gloves for potent Burn ticks, or swap out Grill Gloves with Hardy Gloves to detonate explosions upon reaching the maximum Burn stack level.

Mods

Once Human: Best Burn Build
Mod Name Mod Slot Effect Location
Blaze Blessing Weapon Killing enemies affected by Burn restores 5% HP. Ravenous Hunter (Hard mode)
Flame Resonance Weapon Increase max Burn stacks by 2. Reduce Burn duration by 20%. Ravenous Hunter (Hard mode)
Deviation Expert Helmet Range -25% Fire Rate +10 Status DMG +20% Silo Alpha
Blaze Amplifier Mask Gain +3% Psi Intensity for every stack of Burn you inflict. Silo EX1
Elemental Overload Gloves Elemental DMG +18% Silo Sigma
Status Amplification Pants When the magazine is empty, gain +10% Status DMG for 12s (stacks up to three times). Silo Psi
Secluded Strike Boots When no enemies are within 7m, gain +15% Weapon and Status DMG. Silo Phi

With Blaze Blessing, you can engage large groups of foes with minimal risk of being defeated. As long as there’s nothing too powerful that can instantly kill you, you should be able to recover from any damage sustained due to KVD Boom Boom’s skill in handling multiple opponents. When a strong enemy emerges, switch to your KAM Crank and keep firing. The Burn effect, which normally has a limit of 5 stacks, increases to 8 with the help of your KAM Crank and Flame Resonance.

As my Psi Intensity maxes out, each Burn tick will unleash a whopping 80% of its power, and that’s before factoring in all the additional damage perks from this gaming setup I’ve got going on.

Combat Deviant

Once Human: Best Burn Build

The best Deviant for this build is Pyro Dino. It’s the combat variant of Once Human’s Chefosaurus, and it can buff your Blaze DMG by up to 19.6% against targets that it hits. You can get this Deviant in the secret Seepage Zone in Silo Phi (the same location where you can get a Chefosaurus). However, Pyro Dino is very rare. If you can’t find this Deviant, Lonewolf’s Whisper or Zeno-Purifier will do just fine.

Cradle (Season 1)

Once Human: Best Burn Build
  • Automatic Weapon Enhancement
  • Deviation Master
  • Rapid Aid
  • Sprint
  • Status Enhancement
  • Tactical Combo
  • Sustained Suppression
  • Prairie Fire Inferno

Here are some of the top Cradle bonuses for an “Once Human” Burn build in Season 1. Among these, Deviation Master and Status Enhancement stand out as particularly crucial. The first one, Deviation Master, boosts your damage against anomalous creatures (Deviants) by 50% while you have a combat Deviant active. On the other hand, Status Enhancement enhances your status damage by 25% for three seconds after hitting a vulnerable spot. However, keep in mind that “Once Human” employs a seasonal system, so these perks might no longer be accessible once Season 1 concludes.
