As a seasoned survivor of the post-apocalyptic world of Once Human, I’ve traversed through various regions and encountered countless critters for resources and crafting materials. Let me tell you about some of my favorite hunting spots based on my hard-earned experience.

As a huge fan of horror and survival games, I’m thrilled that Once Human has combined these genres in one free-to-play title. The game offers an engaging storyline that keeps me coming back for more. I can choose between PvE and PvP modes to suit my playstyle. Plus, while a monthly battle pass is available for extra daily bonuses, it’s not necessary to fully enjoy the game.

As a gamer in this survival shooter game, I often find myself in need of animal meat for cooking up new recipes or crafting rawhide for armor and clothing. Obtaining these resources isn’t as simple as going to the local grocery store; instead, I have to go out and hunt animals. It can be a real hassle and time-consuming process, especially if I don’t know where to find the best game in this post-apocalyptic world of Once Human. So, it pays off to learn the ins and outs of animal behavior and habitat, and become an expert tracker to make my hunting trips more productive and less frustrating.

7 Broken Delta Beach

Early Game Deer Hunting

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

In the game “Once Human,” novice players require two essential resources that can solely be procured by hunting and skinning animals. The first resource is rawhide, which is necessary for crafting recipes of most armor within the game. The second one is animal meat, utilized for preparing food.

The secluded Delta Beach, with its broken shoreline, lies to the southeast of the mainland’s starting point. Deer frequently roam this area or retreat slightly inland. However, be wary as a Potential-vs-Player (PvP) zone, controlled by warbands, is not far from the beach. This spot offers an excellent opportunity for new players to collect rawhide and meat through farming.

6 Dayton Wetlands

Deer Farming While Running Missions

After creating their initial armor as a new player, they’ll probably look forward to enhancing it through the calibration process. However, this enhancement comes with a requirement for additional rawhide. Regrettably, some gamers dislike prolonged animal hunting and killing for obtaining resources.

In the game “Once Human,” the expanse known as Dayton Wetlands serves multiple purposes. It’s where various quests and missions unfold, and it teems with wildlife such as deer and rabbits. For players looking to avoid the tedious process of gathering rawhide by hunting every animal they encounter during their quests in Dayton Wetlands, simply killing and skinning these animals should yield sufficient rawhide and an ample supply of meat.

5 Iron River

Boar And Deer Everywhere

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

As a devoted fan, I’d describe my favorite spot in the game world as follows: The Iron River region, nestled between Meyer’s Market and Tall Grass Inn on the Once Human map, has become my go-to place around level 15. This area offers me the perfect blend of resources and convenience – tin and iron ore are easily within reach for my mining endeavors. Additionally, I’m never far from two essential quest hubs, ensuring a steady flow of new missions and adventures.

One benefit of settling temporarily in the Iron River region is the abundance of wild boars and deer roaming around. This can be quite advantageous for players who enjoy hunting, but it’s important to note that setting up a base too near an aggressive wild boar’s spawning spot could result in unwanted encounters.

4 Chalk Peak Plains

Boar, Deer, And Rabbits In Abundance

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

In the intermediate game map, you’ll find the area named Chalk Peak. This is where you’ll discover Tall Grass Inn, a quaint settlement. Chalk Peak boasts several expansive, level grounds. These spots are ideal for mining aluminum and iron. Yet, be prepared as they also house numerous hunt-worthy creatures.

On these vast, level expanses, deer, wild boars, and rabbits abound. But be cautious: hidden among them could be a menacing bear or alligator. Such encounters may pose a threat to players who are underleveled (around level 20) and lack proper equipment.

3 Red Sands

Goats And Wolves

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

In the Red Sands area, where Human players initially enter, you’ll discover tungsten ore for the first time. But this place offers more than just mining opportunities. It’s also abundant in rawhide and meat due to its large goat population.

Players should keep in mind that this area is home to numerous wolf packs, which can pose a significant threat. These wolves tend to lurk at a distance before charging, making it simple to overlook their presence. A player with already weakened health could be easily overwhelmed by these wolves and suffer a devastating attack.

2 Blackheart Mountains

Easy To Farm Goats

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

Mentioned before, there’s a plentiful population of goats in the Red Sands area. Yet, its rocky and mountainous terrain in Red Sands makes goat farming quite a challenge with the difficulties of capturing and skinning them. Instead, consider the Blackheart Mountains as a more convenient option for goat farming.

Surrounding the Blackheart Mountains are expanses of large, sandy areas filled with numerous goat herds. However, be cautious as wolves reside in these parts as well.

1 Hidden Cave

So Many Bears

Once Human: Best Hunting Locations

In the northern part of the Chalk Peak region on the open-world map, you’ll find a secluded mountain range. Nestled within this range is a covert, hard-to-find cave. Inside the cave, there’s a weapon stockpile, a hidden morphic container, and multiple supply crates. But beware, this cave is home to numerous bears that swiftly respawn.

Caution: The caves you’re about to explore are home to tough, bullet-resistant bears. Newcomers should stock up on ammunition before venturing in. Finding this hidden cave network for the first time can be a challenge. It’s not only vast but also intricately connected through the mountains with multiple exits, increasing the risk of getting lost.
