Once Human: Carnival of Doom Quest Guide

As a seasoned player of Once Human, I can’t help but be intrigued by the game’s unique and often bizarre side quests, like Carnival of Doom. This isn’t just another fetch or kill mission; it’s an intense psychological challenge that abducts you into a never-ending game against a psychopath.

In the game “Once Human,” there are numerous intriguing side missions. One of these missions, Carnival of Doom, is unlike the typical fetch or slay tasks. Instead, it kidnaps you and compels you to participate in an endless contest against a deranged adversary.

As a gamer, I can tell you that Carnival of Doom may not be the most challenging mission in the game for some players, but if you missed key clues, you might find yourself stuck there. If you’re eager to get back to your regular routine of exploring Points of Interest (POIs) and gathering resources with Once Human, here are some simple steps to help you complete this optional quest:

How To Start The Carnival Of Doom Quest In Once Human

In the southern part of the map, you’ll find the ominously named Carnival of Doom hidden within the Junkyard point of interest. Be warned, this zone is under control of Rosetta soldiers, so expect intense gunfire if you decide to enter. Since the Carnival of Doom is a level 10 mission in a zone with a level recommendation of 19, it would be wise to enhance your weapons at Once Human prior to venturing into this dangerous territory.

At the Junkyard’s heart, you’ll find the train station. There, a band of Rosetta soldiers are engrossed in a common activity. Eliminate them before continuing. Nearby, interact with the revolver on a crate to initiate the mission.

As a fan, I can describe it this way: When you handle the revolver, you’ll be transported to an extraordinary dimension, similar to the experience I had with the medicine box during the Dayton Hospital incident in “Once Human.” Instead of encountering an alternate train depot, you’ll find yourself in a colossal playroom inhabited by five other individuals and Chuckles, a clown with an unusual fondness for Russian Roulette. Once the brief cutscene concludes, Chuckles will release you, and your mind will immediately start racing with ideas on how to escape this surreal predicament.

In order to get out of the playroom, you need to win against Chuckle in a game of Russian Roulette. However, the game is rigged, and you’ll lose every time you try. To escape, do the following:

  1. Press Q to scan the area.
  2. Follow the cable.
  3. Tell Chuckles you need some fresh air.
  4. Go through the big red door.
  5. Defeat the guy at the end of the hallway.
  6. Interact with the cheating machine.
  7. Challenge Chuckles.

During this mission, weapons are rendered useless, but you can still engage in hand-to-hand combat against Chuckles’ minions. Another option is employing a combat tactic for an efficient finish.

As someone who has spent years delving deep into the world of clandestine operations, I must tell you, my dear reader, that this latest development in our ongoing game with Chuckles is a most intriguing turn of events. It seems that our elusive adversary has a henchman manning some sort of mysterious device that alters the behavior of the revolver we’ve been using. With this revelation, I can’t help but feel a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation.

After finishing the game, you’ll be instantly transported back to the Junkyard. Keep in mind that the Rosetta soldiers protecting the deviant revolver may have reappeared, so prepare for another battle.
