As a long-time Mortal Kombat fan, I strongly believe that Ashrah is a character with tremendous potential who was underutilized in the first installment of the game. Despite her unique moveset and intriguing backstory, she had only a limited role in MK1’s plot, which left fans like me craving for more.

One of the most intriguing characters in the original “Mortal Kombat” game was sadly underutilized and deserves a larger role in the sequel. With such a vast roster in “Mortal Kombat 1,” not every character can have an equal share of the limelight. Unfortunately, this means that some characters with immense potential may be overlooked. In one particular instance, this unfortunate trend affected one of the game’s most unique and memorable characters. While it was disappointing to witness this, there is a simple solution for rectifying this issue in “Mortal Kombat 2.”

In creating the roster for the original “Mortal Kombat,” the game developers wisely selected many beloved and iconic characters like Scorpion, Mileena, and Johnny Cage. Yet, they also introduced some unexpected additions such as Havok and Li Mei, which added intrigue and diversity to the lineup. Although a few fan-favorite fighters were absent initially, “Mortal Kombat 1” boasted an impressive array of characters to select from.

Mortal Kombat 1 Could Have Done More with Ashrah

Ashrah Played a Small Role in Mortal Kombat 1’s Story

Among the playable characters in “Mortal Kombat 1,” Ashrah doesn’t fully live up to her potential in terms of story development. Her unique fighting style, which involves using her enchanted sword Kris and shifting between light and dark stances during battles, sets her apart from others. Furthermore, her backstory as a demon seeking redemption through the power of Kris is quite intriguing. However, Ashrah doesn’t play a significant role in the campaign’s narrative. She makes an appearance to be acknowledged as an ally, but her contributions to the overall plot are minimal.

Ashrah Has Plenty of Stories Primed For the Sequel

The notable thing about Ashrah is that Mortal Kombat 2 can use her effectively thanks to all of the story breadcrumbs surrounding her. Her ending features her training with the Shaolin monks, giving her a greater connection to multiple main characters. In addition, her enmity with Quan Chi, desire to save Sareena, and possible relationship with Reptile mean that Ashrah has a lot going on. There are a myriad of ways that Mortal Kombat 2 could give Ashrah a bigger role thanks to these subplots. Ashrah has more possible stories than most characters, and Mortal Kombat 2 can easily capitalize on that.

Mortal Kombat 2 Can Make Ashrah Into a Bigger Character

Among the characters in “Mortal Kombat,” Ashrah holds great potential for a more significant part in the sequel than many others. With her lengthy absence from the game world, her debut in “Mortal Kombat 1” served as a crucial opportunity for her to re-emerge. Although she boasts one of the most distinctive fighting styles within the game, Ashrah’s presence in the campaign was minimal at best. It would be disheartening if she faded away once more after such a prolonged absence, considering her uniqueness within the series. A larger role for Ashrah in “Mortal Kombat 2” could further cement her status as an iconic figure in the game.

In comparison to many other characters, Ashrah from “Mortal Kombat 2” boasts a rich potential for various backstories. This aspect of her character lends itself well to the game’s narrative.

Reviving Ashrah for “Mortal Kombat 1” was a wise decision, yet there were chances to expand her role further. The narrative of “Mortal Kombat 2” offers an excellent opportunity to promote Ashrah’s involvement. One subplot could be developed to elevate her significance in the following installment, enhancing her character and acknowledging her potential worth within the series. Ashrah is intriguing, and she warrants more attention from fans. “Mortal Kombat 2” has the power to grant Ashrah the recognition she deserves.
