In the world of One Piece, the Yonko are the four strongest pirates who dominate the New World. They’ve become especially important as the story reaches its climax. Recently, the group underwent a major shift: Big Mom and Kaido were replaced by Luffy and Buggy, causing a complete shake-up in their crews as well. Now, the Yonko Commanders are an incredibly powerful group, and the author, Oda, is setting them up to be key players and demonstrate their incredible abilities as the story heads towards a massive, final war.
Jinbe
- Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates
Jinbe is the skilled helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates and a powerful commander serving under Yonko Luffy. He’s an expert in both Fishman Karate and Merman Jujutsu, and also wields two types of Haki. During the Wano Country arc of One Piece, Jinbe demonstrated his strength by decisively defeating Who’s Who.
He was expected to become powerful enough to compete with characters like Jack and the other top commanders of the Yonko by now. However, Jinbe hasn’t demonstrated the strength to reach that level, and he appears to be one of the weaker elite commanders in the final arc of the story.
Yasopp
- Pirate Crew: Red Hair Pirates
Yasopp is a highly skilled marksman and a key member of the Red Hair Pirates, serving as one of Shanks’s top officers. Known as “The Chaser,” he’s considered one of the world’s greatest snipers, and possibly the very best.
Yasopp possesses incredibly strong Observation and Armament Haki. His skill is so great that a single shot from him could wipe out an entire pirate crew worth over 200 million berries, demonstrating his immense power. The World Government recognizes him as one of the strongest members of Shanks’s crew, on par with the other commanders, and notes he doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses.
Shiryu
- Pirate Crew: Blackbeard Pirates
Shiryu is the second-in-command captain of the Blackbeard Pirates and a very strong fighter. He fights with a unique sword called Raiu, known for its savage nature. Beyond his skill with the blade, Shiryu can use two forms of Haki, and he also possesses the power of the Suke Suke no Mi Devil Fruit, which lets him turn invisible or extend that invisibility to others just by touching them.
Shiryu is a powerful fighter, but he’s not quite at the level of the strongest Yonko commanders. While his battle with Garp proved he’s a formidable force, he still has room to grow and improve.
Crocodile
- Pirate Crew: Cross Guild
Crocodile became significantly more powerful and well-known after the two-year timeskip. He’s now a member of the Cross Guild, and after the World Government revised the bounties of the former Warlords, his was set at 1.965 billion Berries – a clear sign of how much stronger he’s become.
After the time skip, he’s gained the ability to use Haki, making him significantly more dangerous. Combined with the power of his Suna Suna no Mi, Crocodile is a formidable opponent. As a member of the Cross Guild, he’s poised to be a key player in what happens next in the story.
Lucky Roux
- Pirate Crew: Red Hair Pirates
Lucky Roux is a powerful member of Yonko Shanks’ crew, known for his exceptional mastery of Haki. He’s also a skilled fighter with impressive kicking abilities, often compared to Sanji.
We haven’t seen Shanks’ full strength yet, but considering his crew members are all incredibly powerful and have exceptionally high bounties, it’s safe to say he’s one of the strongest fighters in the entire Red Hair Pirates.

Sanji
- Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates
Sanji is a key member of the crew aiming for the title of Pirate King and a formidable opponent in battle. He’s mastered two types of Haki to a great degree, and also has a unique ability – thanks to genetic modifications – that lets him activate an exoskeleton, significantly boosting his strength and speed.
At his strongest, Sanji can go toe-to-toe with the most powerful commanders serving the Yonko, and even win. He’s demonstrated incredible power, like being the first person to ever destroy one of Kizaru’s lasers, completely shocking the Admiral. Sanji is rapidly approaching the level of Admirals and Yonko, and is currently one of the strongest commanders in the final arc of the story.
Roronoa Zoro
- Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates
Roronoa Zoro is one of the strongest members of Luffy’s crew and a powerful fighter in the world of One Piece. He doesn’t have the powers of a Devil Fruit, but he’s mastered all three types of Haki, and uses a special sword called Enma to enhance his abilities.
Zoro and Sanji are currently at the same power level, making Zoro a very dangerous opponent. As the story progresses, he’s expected to become even stronger and ultimately exceed the abilities of Mihawk.
Ben Beckman
- Pirate Crew: Red Hair Pirates
Ben Beckman, the vice-captain of the Red Hair Pirates, is known as a very strong fighter with a personality that’s quite different from his captain, Shanks.
Beckman is rumored to be far more powerful than the Navy Admirals. While the extent of his strength is a mystery, his reputation as one of the world’s most feared pirates earns him the respect of even the strongest pirate commanders.
Kuzan
- Pirate Crew: Blackbeard Pirates
Kuzan, a powerful member of the Blackbeard Pirates – specifically, the captain of their 10th Ship – used to be a high-ranking Navy Admiral. After the Summit War, he was considered for the position of Fleet Admiral, but lost a fierce ten-day battle against Akainu.
Kuzan is incredibly powerful, and his bounty of over 3 billion berries confirms he’s among the strongest commanders serving the Yonko.
Dracule Mihawk
- Pirate Crew: Cross Guild
Dracule Mihawk is widely considered the most powerful commander serving under the Yonko Buggy. He’s incredibly skilled in Haki and fights with Yoru, a legendary sword. While we haven’t seen the full extent of his abilities, as the world’s strongest swordsman – and one even more skilled than Shanks – he’s definitely among the very best Yonko commanders.
The story will likely explore Mihawk’s power further, and ultimately, Zoro is expected to surpass him, possibly even defeating him in a duel.
