One Piece: 5 Devil Fruits That Can Rival Loki’s Dragon Fruit

This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

More than a year after Loki’s debut in One Piece, Eiichiro Oda has revealed the details of his powerful Devil Fruit. While the fruit doesn’t have a name yet, it’s clearly a Western Dragon type, similar in appearance to Nidhoggr. Its immense size and strength make it one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in the One Piece world, though a few legendary fruits could potentially match or even surpass its abilities. Although there’s still much to learn about Loki and his fruit, it’s already proven to be comparable to several other incredibly strong abilities.

Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

  • User: Monkey D. Luffy
  • Type: Mythical Zoan

When considering Devil Fruits that could match the power of Loki’s Dragon Fruit, Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika stands out. This fruit is incredibly powerful once fully awakened, a feat Luffy achieved during his intense battle with Kaido in the Wano arc. Initially, the fruit simply turns the user’s body into rubber. However, after awakening, Luffy unlocks the fruit’s true potential, making him exceptionally strong.

Luffy’s Gear 5 transforms his already flexible body, making it incredibly strong and resilient. Beyond that, he can now change objects around him into rubber as well. The true strength of the Nika Devil Fruit lies in Luffy’s imagination – he can essentially make anything he envisions a reality. While Loki’s fruit currently has more visually striking abilities, like transforming into a massive dragon, the Nika Fruit’s full power will be revealed during the Final Saga.

Imu’s Unknown Devil Fruit

  • User: Imu
  • Type: Unknown (Possible Mythical Zoan)

Imu is an incredibly powerful character in One Piece, so it makes sense they would have an exceptionally strong Devil Fruit, comparable to the power of Loki. Currently, Imu is widely considered the strongest character in the series, largely because they appear to be building towards becoming the ultimate villain.

Imu has demonstrated some impressive powers from their Devil Fruit, which appears to be a Mythical Zoan type. This fruit allows Imu to transform into a demonic being and use abilities similar to magic. We’ve seen Imu turn people into demonic slaves using a contract called Domi Reversi, and they possess a spellbook filled with countless other spells. Imu can also create Covenants – agreements that grant others great power, but in return, make them puppets controlled by Imu. It’s likely Imu could use this ability on Loki. While Loki is powerful, Imu currently seems to have the upper hand. A battle between them should happen soon, giving fans a clearer idea of how their powers truly match up.

Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu

  • Users: Kaido, Momonosuke
  • Type: Mythical Zoan

Before we learned about Loki’s powers, Kaido was the most impressive dragon in the world of One Piece. He was the big bad guy in the Wano arc and the final villain of the Yonko Saga that Luffy had to defeat. A lot of Kaido’s strength came from his Devil Fruit, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu. This rare Mythical Zoan fruit let him transform into a powerful eastern dragon, and he could control fire, lightning, and wind!

Considering both are dragon-type Devil Fruits, their powers are comparable. However, Loki is significantly larger and stronger. Now that Kaido has been defeated, Momonosuke is the only one who possesses this ability, but he’s still far from reaching Loki’s level.

Yami Yami no Mi

  • User: Blackbeard
  • Type: Logia

Among all the Logia-type Devil Fruits, the Yami Yami no Mi stands far above the rest. Currently wielded by Blackbeard, it’s widely considered the most powerful Logia Devil Fruit in existence.

Although the Yami Yami no Mi is a powerful Logia fruit, it has some drawbacks. It doesn’t allow the user to transform into a tangible element like other Logias, and it makes them vulnerable to double damage. However, these weaknesses are offset by its incredible abilities. The Yami Yami no Mi’s greatest power is its ability to absorb other Devil Fruit powers, effectively canceling them out – even something as strong as Loki’s dragon would be neutralized. This ability is so potent it could potentially rival, and even overcome, the mighty Nidhogg. No other Devil Fruit ability in the One Piece world can withstand the Yami Yami no Mi’s power.

Gura Gura no Mi

  • User: Whitebeard (Formerly), Blackbeard
  • Type: Paramecia

Once belonging to Whitebeard, the world’s strongest man, the Gura Gura no Mi is considered the most powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. It allows the user to create massive vibrations, capable of triggering earthquakes and tsunamis strong enough to devastate the One Piece world. Essentially, the user becomes a ‘vibration human’ who can cause quakes at will, with the power to destroy islands and even the world itself. Currently, Blackbeard possesses this fruit and is likely planning to use its immense power. In terms of sheer destructive capability, the Gura Gura no Mi is considered equal to the Nidhogg fruit.

Loki’s Devil Fruit is rumored to have world-destroying potential, and after seeing its abilities in One Piece, that claim feels justified. However, the Gura Gura no Mi, or Tremor-Tremor Fruit, could achieve the same level of destruction. Despite this, Loki’s Devil Fruit appears to be more versatile overall. It’s likely that Oda will reveal more about the Gura Gura no Mi’s powers in future story arcs, particularly if Blackbeard unlocks its full, awakened potential.
