Kaido, known as the ‘King of Beasts,’ was the primary villain in the Wano Country arc of One Piece. He was considered one of the strongest characters in the series, with a bounty exceeding 4.6 billion berries. At the time, many believed him to be the strongest pirate, and he proved a formidable opponent, pushing Luffy to his absolute limit. However, the final part of the story introduces even more powerful enemies. The author, Oda, has already shown several villains who are stronger than Kaido, and some are even a match for Luffy.
6. Akainu
- Affiliation: Marines
Akainu is the highest-ranking officer in the Marines and a major enemy in the story. He was a key opponent during the war at Marineford and is best known for killing Portgas D. Ace. Luffy deeply hates Akainu, and they are expected to clash again in the final arc of the series. His recently revealed bounty of 5 billion berries proves just how dangerous he is.
Because Akainu is being held back as a major villain for the story’s final arc, he’s likely more powerful than Kaido. His Devil Fruit, the Magu Magu no Mi, is incredibly destructive and can defeat most opponents. He’s also a master of Haki, and has only gotten stronger over time. When Luffy finally fights Akainu, it’s probable he’ll be a difficult opponent, even in Gear 5, and it will be fascinating to see how their battle compares to the fight with Kaido. All signs suggest Akainu will be the overall stronger foe, which makes sense for the story’s direction.
5. Five Elders
- Affiliation: World Government
The Five Elders are incredibly powerful beings, often referred to as Warrior Gods. They answer directly to Saint Imu Nerona and share a special bond with her, granting them immortality, rapid healing, and preventing them from aging. Each Elder also possesses unique abilities, like Yokai powers which give them immense strength, and they all appear to be masters of Conqueror’s Haki. These combined powers make them equals, or even superiors, to the most powerful pirates, like Kaido.
Luffy’s fight with the Five Elders proves they’re more powerful than Kaido. While Luffy defeated Kaido, he couldn’t even consistently hurt the Elders, forcing him to retreat. The Red Roc attack, which significantly injured Kaido, only resulted in Luffy hurting his own hand when used against Warcury. The Elders haven’t even demonstrated their full strength yet, but they’ve already surpassed Kaido in power.
4. Gunko (Possessed)
- Affiliation: World Government
Gunko is a major villain in the Elbaf arc of One Piece. As a Holy Knight, she has a strong connection to Imu, and may even have a deeper, more powerful bond – potentially making her as important as an Elder. This connection allows Imu to possess Gunko, granting her incredible power. She’s capable of immense destruction, potentially wiping out an entire country instantly, which makes her a uniquely dangerous opponent.
She’s incredibly powerful thanks to the Aro Aro no Mi, but her real strength comes from the Grimoire of Imu, which lets her use a wide range of devastating spells capable of defeating almost anyone.
Currently, even powerful fighters like Luffy wouldn’t be able to defeat her in a one-on-one fight, proving she’s significantly stronger than Kaido. Given Imu’s influence, she might even be able to completely overpower Kaido, a frightening thought, especially considering the events that unfolded with the Rocks pirates 38 years ago in God Valley. There’s no question that, controlled by Imu, she’s a far greater threat than Kaido.
3. Shamrock Figarland
- Affiliation: World Government
Shamrock Figarland is a recently introduced character in the final part of One Piece. He’s Shanks’ twin brother, but their lives took very different paths. While Shanks joined the Roger Pirates, Shamrock was raised by the Celestial Dragons and has become completely villainous. He’s considered to be just as powerful as Shanks, but with the added ability to regenerate and potentially live forever due to a pact with Imu. This makes him incredibly strong – in the Elbaf arc, he was even shown to be more powerful than Loki, putting him above even Kaido in terms of strength.
If Shamrock is as powerful as Shanks, he’d easily defeat Kaido. While his full strength hasn’t been shown yet, the author has hinted he’s one of the series’ strongest characters. Oda has also positioned Shamrock as a major figure in the final arc of the story, as the hunt for the One Piece continues, and it will be exciting to see how he impacts the plot going forward.
2. Blackbeard
- Affiliation: Four Emperors
Blackbeard is a major villain in the One Piece story and is related to the legendary Davy Jones. He possesses the power of two incredibly strong Devil Fruits – the Yami Yami no Mi and the Gura Gura no Mi – considered the most powerful of their types. In addition to these fruits, Blackbeard is a master of Haki, making him even more formidable than Kaido.
I’ve seen this guy’s power, and it’s terrifying. His Devil Fruit ability basically cancels out any other Devil Fruit power, and he’s strong enough to literally destroy the world with his attacks. Honestly, comparing him to anyone else feels pointless. I have a feeling we’ll really see just how powerful he is as the story goes on.
1. Imu
- Affiliation: World Government
Imu, the ruler of the world, is significantly more powerful than most of the villains we’ve seen in the recent part of the story. Having been in power for centuries, Imu’s abilities are currently beyond our understanding, and it’s clear they are stronger than even Kaido.
Actually, defeating Kaido wouldn’t be much of a challenge for Imu. The difference in their power is enormous – even everything Kaido has wouldn’t be enough to harm Imu. It would be an easy victory for Imu, similar to how they defeated Rocks D. Xebec 38 years ago at God Valley.
