One Piece: 6 Future Luffy Fights In The Final Saga

This article contains spoilers for One Piece.

One Piece offers a compelling story and memorable characters, but it’s also known for its exciting action. While the series features many battles, the fights involving the main character, Luffy, are always highlights for fans. Everyone is especially eager to see how his upcoming battles against powerful opponents like Imu and Blackbeard will play out in the final arc of the series.

Blackbeard

A Yonko of the Sea With Two Devil Fruits

Blackbeard is a major villain in One Piece, and many fans think he could be the ultimate enemy, even more so than Imu. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the showdown between Luffy and Blackbeard. Blackbeard is a fascinating character with a mysterious background – he’s related to the famous pirate Davy D. Jones and has a unique body. Their battle promises to be the most spectacular fight in the series, showcasing the power of Devil Fruits.

Gunko

Elbaf’s Main Antagonist

The central villain of the current storyline, Elbaf, has been identified as Gunko, but there’s a twist. Gunko, a member of the Holy Knights, is unique because Imu has possessed her body, turning her into what appears to be the most dangerous enemy in One Piece so far.

Imu is using her abilities through someone on Elbaf, creating significant trouble. She’s already proven incredibly powerful by defeating two strong fighters, Dorry and Brogy, and even manipulating them against their allies. This arc, Luffy will have to fight Imu, and fans are eagerly awaiting the battle – many think Luffy might be defeated.

Imu

The Secret Sovereign of the World

Although we’re seeing Imu’s abilities through Gunko, it’s probably a weakened version of their full power. Imu is likely far more powerful than what we’ve witnessed so far, and currently appears to be the main villain of the One Piece story.

The showdown between Luffy and Imu is the most eagerly awaited battle in the entire *One Piece* series, and it will decide the future of the world. Unlike Joy Boy, who failed in the past, Luffy is predicted to win in this final chapter of the story.

Akainu

The Fleet Admiral of the Marines

Akainu is currently the biggest villain in One Piece and has directly affected Luffy’s journey. He tragically killed Luffy’s brother, Ace, during the Battle of Marineford, causing Luffy immense pain and setting him on a path for revenge.

Fans are eager to see Luffy battle Sakazuki, who is now a Fleet Admiral, and get revenge for his late brother. The fight could happen with Luffy as the main combatant, or surprisingly, with Sabo taking on the challenge. Either way, it would be a compelling storyline.

Five Elders

The World Government’s Most Powerful Group

Luffy recently confronted the Five Elders, also called the Gorosei, during the Egghead arc of *One Piece*. Although he wasn’t easily defeated, he wasn’t able to inflict any damage on them.

Currently, Luffy’s ability to use Conqueror’s Haki isn’t strong enough to overcome immortality, but that will likely improve during the Elbaf arc as he fights the Holy Knights and Imu’s forces. A second fight between Luffy and the Five Elders will then demonstrate just how much more powerful he’s become.

Shanks

The Red Haired Yonko

Shanks and Luffy are on good terms with each other. Shanks once saved Luffy’s life when he was a child and even gave him his treasured Straw Hat. This inspired Luffy to become a pirate, but they are destined to fight one day. Luffy wants to demonstrate his strength to Shanks and prove he’s become the stronger of the two.

Currently, Shanks is depicted as the most powerful of the Four Emperors and possesses the strongest Haki we’ve seen so far. However, the story seems to be building towards a future clash where Luffy will surpass him. The final arc of the series will likely focus heavily on their eventual confrontation.

The next chapter of One Piece, chapter 1162, will be released next week, as usual on Sundays. While it becomes available in Japan at midnight on Monday, most fans around the world will be able to read it on October 12, 2025. You can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
