One Piece: 6 Next Opponents For Zoro In The Final Saga

Roronoa Zoro is a skilled swordsman and a key member of the Straw Hat Pirates in the world of One Piece. He’s known for his unique three-sword fighting style and has become incredibly powerful, capable of challenging even the strongest pirates. Combining his mastery of swordsmanship with a powerful form of spiritual energy called Haki, Zoro has been steadily conquering the dangerous New World. As the story of One Piece reaches its climax, Zoro is expected to face his toughest battles yet, with the creator, Oda, planning some thrilling encounters for him.

Saint Sommers

  • Affiliation: Holy Knights

During the Elbaph arc of One Piece, the author, Oda, really started to showcase a dangerous group called the Knights of God, or Holy Knights. I think one of them, Saint Sommers, would be an amazing opponent for Zoro. Sommers is basically the Holy Land of Marijoa’s top assassin, and interestingly, like Zoro, he’s a master swordsman with a very powerful blade. As a Holy Knight, he has a special connection – the Depths Covenant – with Saint Imu, which gives him incredible abilities. This covenant not only allows him to regenerate and essentially be immortal, but also grants him superhuman strength that could go toe-to-toe with some of the strongest fighters in the One Piece world.

Zoro hasn’t fought Sommers yet in the Elbaf arc, and Luffy and Loki easily defeated him. But because Sommers can regenerate and with Imu Nerona now appearing, he’s likely to come back even more powerful and eventually challenge Zoro. This fight promises to be thrilling and will probably help Zoro master his Conqueror’s Haki.

Shiryu

  • Affiliation: Blackbeard Pirates

Shiryu is a powerful swordsman and second-in-command of the Blackbeard Pirates, fighting with a blade called Raiu. He used to be the chief jailer at Impel Down, but his extreme cruelty led to him being imprisoned by the warden, Magellan. He was released when Blackbeard attacked Impel Down and has been a key member of Blackbeard’s crew ever since.

Shiryu is incredibly strong, proven by the serious injury he inflicted on Garp during the Egghead arc. He continues to be a formidable opponent, combining powerful Haki with the abilities of the Suke Suke no Mi, which allows him to become an invisible swordsman. Fans can expect a dangerous and exciting clash between Shiryu and Zoro in the upcoming Final Saga.

Fujitora

  • Affiliation: Marines

Fujitora is a Marine Admiral who joined the ranks after a global recruitment process during the two-year time skip. Similar to Aramaki, he’s a skilled swordsman, and a rivalry has already begun to develop with Roronoa Zoro, hinting at a future confrontation between them.

As an observer, I’ve noticed Fujitora is incredibly powerful. He’s a master of both Armament and Observation Haki, and on top of that, his Devil Fruit, the Zushi Zushi no Mi, lets him manipulate gravity. Frankly, he’s on a completely different level than Zoro is right now. However, Zoro is constantly improving, and I have a feeling we’ll see these two clash eventually. It’s going to be a fascinating fight, and Zoro will likely need to overcome opponents like Fujitora if he ever hopes to surpass Mihawk.

S-Hawk

  • Affiliation: Seraphim

During the climax of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda revealed the Seraphim, artificial beings created with incredible power. Among them is S-Hawk, the Seraphim modeled after Dracule Mihawk, the World’s Strongest Swordsman. S-Hawk is potentially even stronger than Mihawk, inheriting his abilities and fighting style through a shared genetic lineage. Additionally, S-Hawk possesses the powers of a Lunarian, granting him nearly invulnerable defense that he can trade for incredible speed.

S-Hawk possesses the power of the Supa Supa no Mi, a Devil Fruit recreated by Vegapunk using Green Blood. This makes him an even more formidable weapon than Mihawk. Although he’s still a child and hasn’t reached his full potential, he’s destined to become exceptionally strong in the future.

Dracule Mihawk

  • Affiliation: Cross Guild

Dracule Mihawk is widely known as the world’s strongest swordsman and represents the peak that Zoro strives to reach. He’s maintained this title for years, even having a long-standing rivalry with Shanks before Shanks became a Yonko. Mihawk’s swordsmanship surpasses even that of the powerful Emperor, highlighting his incredible strength. Though the full extent of his abilities remains to be seen, his bounty of 3.59 billion berries indicates he’s a force comparable to the Yonko in the world of One Piece.

Zoro is determined to become stronger than Mihawk, and a final showdown between them is inevitable. Although Mihawk previously won against Zoro, their next fight will be different – Zoro will be at his strongest. Fans anticipate Zoro will finally defeat Mihawk, creating an epic and unforgettable battle.

Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro

  • Affiliation: Give Elders

Considering the major conflict in One Piece will likely be between pirates and the World Government, Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro is almost certainly going to be a powerful enemy for Zoro. By the time they fight, Zoro may have already become the world’s strongest swordsman, making their battle incredibly significant. The groundwork for this fight was laid with the Kitetsu encounter in the Egghead Arc, and it will likely culminate in a major showdown during the Final Saga.

Nusjuro is undoubtedly a top-tier fighter among the Five Elders, and his possession of a Supreme Grade Sword proves his immense strength. He’ll be a challenging opponent for Zoro, and while he currently has the upper hand, Zoro is destined to overcome him thanks to the power of the Abyssal Covenant.
