In the world of One Piece, Haki is essential for reaching the highest levels of strength. While Devil Fruits grant impressive powers, characters can only become truly powerful by mastering Haki, which is why the strongest fighters all possess this ability.
Haki has three main types: Conqueror’s Haki, Observation Haki, and Armament Haki. While Armament Haki is the most frequently seen, it’s also quite challenging to fully control. Let’s explore some of the most skilled Armament Haki users in One Piece who are considered the very best.
Kaido Was A Master Of All Kinds Of Haki
The King of the Beasts
Becoming known as the ‘World’s Strongest Creature’ requires incredible strength. While Kaido possessed one of the most potent Devil Fruits in the entire One Piece series, he also dedicated himself to mastering all forms of Haki, becoming exceptionally skilled in their use and setting himself apart from others.
Kaido is a rare user of Conqueror’s Haki, but he’s especially known for his incredibly powerful Armament Haki. He used it to strengthen his club, the Hassaikai, making it devastatingly effective. With his Armament Haki, he easily defeated Luffy even when Luffy was in his powerful Gear 4 form, doing so repeatedly.
Shanks Has Shown Incredible Prowess With Armament Haki
The Red-Haired Pirate
Shanks is easily one of the strongest fighters in One Piece, and what makes that even more remarkable is that he doesn’t rely on a Devil Fruit. He’s reached the peak of power solely through his incredible skill with Haki.
Shanks is renowned for his Conqueror’s Haki, but he’s also incredibly skilled with Armament Haki. He demonstrated this by easily defeating Eustass Kid and his whole crew with a single attack. This mastery of Armament Haki is a key reason why Shanks became a powerful Pirate Emperor.
Mihawk’s Armament Haki Has Given Him A Legendary Black Blade
The World’s Strongest Swordsman
I’ve noticed that Mihawk, much like Shanks, has become incredibly powerful – easily one of the strongest characters we’ve seen. What’s really interesting is he achieved this purely through mastering Haki, without relying on a Devil Fruit. While most people consider Shanks and Mihawk to be evenly matched, I’ve heard a lot of debate about whether Mihawk’s Armament Haki is actually stronger. A lot of that comes down to the fact that he fights with a sword, while Shanks uses no weapon at all – it seems to give Mihawk an edge in that specific type of Haki.
Mihawk fights with Yoru, a famous sword considered one of the twelve most powerful weapons in the series. What makes Yoru special is that it’s a Black Blade – a result of being coated with so much Armament Haki over time that it’s permanently blackened and significantly strengthened. This leads many to think Mihawk’s mastery of Armament Haki is exceptional.
Gol D. Roger Was One Of The Strongest Of All Time
The Pirate King
Roger’s exceptional Armament Haki, much like Shanks’, likely propelled him to the peak of strength in the world simply through his skill with Haki. Some people, however, think his power stemmed entirely from Conqueror’s Haki and its advanced form, Conqueror’s Coating.
Roger was exceptionally skilled with Armament Haki, and it played a major role in his ability to fight strong enemies. He even used it effectively against the formidable Domi Reversi’d Rocks, expertly coating his sword with Haki – a technique many think was key to his strength during the battle.
Garp Imbued His Fists With The Power Of Armament Haki
The Marine Hero
Given his reputation as the most powerful Marine ever, it’s no surprise that Garp is incredibly skilled in Haki. Throughout his long career battling dangerous pirates – including during the era of legends like Roger and Rocks – he developed an unmatched determination, standing, and strength.
Like Roger, Garp primarily used Conqueror’s Haki and Conqueror’s Coating to win fights, but he was also incredibly skilled with Armament Haki. This was evident in his ability to defeat Don Chinjao later in life, and in his strong performance at the Marineford War.
Rocks D. Xebec Was The Strongest Of The Old Era
The Legendary Pirate
When looking back at the early history of One Piece, Rocks D. Xebec was undoubtedly the most powerful figure, though the difference wasn’t huge. Considered by many to be the greatest pirate ever, Rocks was feared for his immense strength. Despite constantly searching for two particular Devil Fruits, his power primarily came from his extraordinary Haki.
Before Mihawk, Rocks likely held the title of World’s Strongest Swordsman. His swordsmanship wasn’t about precise cuts, but raw, cannonball-like power. This suggests his Armament Haki was exceptionally strong – powerful enough to even injure incredibly durable Giants.
Ryuma Likely Had The Greatest Armament Haki Of All Time
The God of the Blade
Ryuma, known as the ‘God of the Blade,’ is a legendary figure whose story has lived on for centuries. He was Wano’s most skilled swordsman, famously protecting the country from the World Government and any other dangers during his lifetime, making him one of the most powerful and well-known characters in history.
Ryuma’s signature weapon was the legendary sword Shusui, an incredibly powerful blade and one of only two known Black Blades. It’s exceptionally heavy and difficult to control, demanding immense strength and skill to wield effectively. This is because Ryuma infused it with his Armament Haki over a long period, likely making him the most proficient user of this ability in the world of One Piece.
