While the Pirate King is generally considered the world’s strongest pirate, strength isn’t the only requirement – you must complete a full voyage around the world and find the One Piece to earn the title.

Currently, only Gol D. Roger, the captain of the Roger Pirates, has ever been known as the Pirate King. But many other characters in the world of One Piece could potentially earn that title, and fans will likely see a new Pirate King emerge as the story continues.

Eustass Kid

Honestly, I was blown away by how much Kid contributed to taking down Big Mom – it really proved what he’s capable of! But then, seeing Shanks completely overpower him was a harsh reminder that he’s still got a ways to go before he truly reaches his full potential. Even after such a devastating loss, I definitely don’t think Kid’s out of the game. I have a feeling we’ll see him back on the hunt for the One Piece before too long.

Trafalgar Law

Trafalgar Law is a powerful member of the ‘Worst Generation,’ a group of exceptionally strong pirates who rose to prominence in recent times. Law is determined to reach the final island and find the One Piece, though the treasure itself isn’t his primary goal. While he doesn’t currently possess Conqueror’s Haki, he has excellent control over Haki in general, and it’s possible he could develop Conqueror’s Haki later on. If he continues to develop at his current rate, he has the potential to become the Pirate King.

Buggy in One Piece is surprisingly successful despite not being very strong. While many underestimate him, he’s incredibly ambitious and determined. Recent events in the story have even shown his ambition exceeds that of powerful characters like Dracule Mihawk and Crocodile. Buggy genuinely believes he can become the Pirate King and take the treasure from the other top pirates.

Buggy has ambitions of surpassing Shanks and claiming the One Piece for himself. While he may not be as powerful right now, many believe he’s worthy of the title, and fans are eager to see how he develops as the Cross Guild becomes more prominent in the story.

Boa Hancock

She also has an incredibly strong Devil Fruit ability, the Mero Mero no Mi, which makes her a formidable opponent.

Hancock possesses a rare ability to turn people to stone, a power so coveted that even Blackbeard desired it. Currently, she has a bounty of 1.659 billion berries, and it’s expected to increase in the future.

Shanks

I was completely blown away by his power – he could take down both Kid and Killer with a single attack. He’s operating on a whole different plane now, and everyone’s expecting to see a lot more from him as the story goes on. It’s clear he’s actively pursuing the One Piece right now.

Blackbeard
