As a huge fan of One Piece, I’m always amazed by Devil Fruits. They’re basically this incredible source of power – eating one can give you abilities you wouldn’t believe! Sure, they always come with a drawback, but honestly, the amazing powers you gain are so worth it. It’s a fantastic trade-off that makes the world of One Piece so exciting.
As a longtime watcher of this series, one thing always strikes me about Devil Fruits: everyone’s chasing that power-up! And for good reason – some of these fruits have created truly iconic abilities. What’s fascinating is how, despite all the variety, you start to notice patterns. While each user is unique, certain powers share common ground, whether it’s control over the elements or the ability to transform into increasingly powerful forms. It’s a clever way the series builds power dynamics, showing both individuality and recognizable archetypes.
Magu Magu no Mi
- Devil Fruit Type: Logia
- Inferior Version: Mera Mera no Mi
As a huge One Piece fan, the Marineford war was a real turning point for me. Seeing Ace and Akainu go head-to-head, and Akainu burning Ace’s fire, was just incredible. It really drove home a point Oda was making – not all Devil Fruits are created equal! Even though they both controlled elements, Akainu’s power was clearly on another level, just devastatingly hot and destructive. It made me realize there’s a whole hierarchy of power within the Devil Fruits themselves.
Ton Ton no Mi Devil Fruit
- Type: Paramecia
- Inferior Version: Kiro Kiro no Mi
Both Devil Fruits let their users change their weight, but they differ in how much weight they can add. Machvise’s fruit can increase weight by metric tons, up to a maximum of 10,000 tons. Miss Valentine’s fruit only allows an increase of up to 10,000 kilograms. This makes Machvise’s ability stronger, as he can inflict more damage, is more destructive overall, and poses a greater threat.
Hie Hie no Mi
- Devil Fruit Type: Logia
- Inferior Version: Yuki Yuki no Mi
Both Monet and Aokiji have a distinctive fighting style centered around freezing and disabling opponents, a power they get from their unique abilities. While their powers are alike, Aokiji’s is stronger overall. He can freeze enemies quickly and unleash more devastating attacks, even freezing vast bodies of water with just a touch, making him the more formidable fighter.

Buki Buki no Mi
- Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
- Inferior Version: Supa Supa no Mi
Both Baby 5 and Daz Bones have Devil Fruits that let them transform their bodies into weapons. However, Baby 5’s ability is more versatile – she can become many different kinds of weapons, like guns and swords. Daz Bones, on the other hand, can only turn into steel blades. This makes Baby 5 a more unpredictable fighter with a wider range of options in battle.
Gasu Gasu no Mi
- Devil Fruit Type: Logia
- Inferior Version: Moku Moku no Mi
Both the Gasu Gasu no Mi and Moku Moku no Mi are Devil Fruits that give their users the ability to become intangible, like gas. Smoker’s fruit lets him control smoke to capture enemies. Caesar Clown possesses the Gasu Gasu no Mi, which allows him to control all kinds of gas. He can create poisonous gas to knock people out, and he’s immune to its effects.
Tori Tori no Mi Model: Phoenix
- Devil Fruit Type: Mythical Zoan
- Inferior Version: Tori Tori no Mi Model: Falcon
Marco’s Devil Fruit is incredibly powerful, considered one of the strongest Mythical Zoan types in the series. It grants him the power of flight, rapid regeneration, and the ability to create blue flames that are hot enough to extinguish ordinary fire. Compared to Pell’s Devil Fruit, Marco’s is much more versatile, offering significantly greater abilities and enhanced strength.
Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune
- Devil Fruit Type: Mythical Zoan
- Inferior Version: Mane Mane no Mi
Blackbeard’s pirates are collecting powerful Devil Fruits for their crew. They’ve already obtained several strong ones, like the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune – a Mythical Zoan-type fruit – which Catarina Devon now possesses.
Her Devil Fruit power lets her create duplicates of anyone she touches. Bon Clay has a similar ability, allowing him to copy faces. Devon’s fruit is more powerful because it also replicates the target’s clothing. It’s also possible she can copy their abilities, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
