This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
In the captivating world of “One Piece”, the eagerly awaited revelations usually revolve around bounties. These bounties are such an integral aspect of the storyline, that they spark great anticipation among fans.
During the time when Roger initiated the Golden Age of Piracy, bounties became increasingly common. However, even prior to his influential speech, there were numerous pirates who already had significant bounties on their heads. Indeed, among these, Roger himself was known to have the highest bounty in the world of One Piece. In essence, the Great Pirate Era contributed to most of the noteworthy bounties fans have encountered, but there were already some exceptionally high rewards being offered before this period.
Brook
The Musician of the Straw Hat Pirates
- Bounty: 33,000,000 Berries
Currently, Brook belongs to the Straw Hat Pirates crew led by Luffy. However, prior to his association with them, he was a member of the Rumbar Pirates. It’s worth noting that the Rumbar Pirates were already active much earlier than when Roger gained notoriety in the world of One Piece.
During Brook’s tenure with the Rumbar Pirates, he carried a bounty of 33 million berries on his head. However, it’s common knowledge that his bounty has significantly increased since embarking on journeys with the Straw Hat Pirates in recent times. As of now, Brook’s bounty stands at a staggering 383 million berries, a figure established well after the commencement of the Great Pirate Era.
Don Chinjao
A Former Pirate

- Bounty: 542,000,000 Berries
In the Dressrosa storyline, Don Chinjao was initially introduced as a character. Despite being a user of Conqueror Haki and having quite a history as a pirate, he tends to be underestimated among One Piece fans. This may be due to his perceived lack of grandeur. However, during his time as a pirate, he boasted a bounty of 542 million Berries, which is no small feat.
Gill Buster
Former Member of the Rocks Pirates

- Bounty: 970,000,000 Berries (Potentially)
Gill Buster was among the initial characters created by Oda, making his debut in Oda’s one-shot titled WANTED long before he became known in One Piece. Over time, fans have come to recognize that Gill Buster was associated with the Rocks Pirates.
In the manga “One Piece,” although Oda didn’t explicitly confirm Gill Buster’s bounty, in a separate one-shot titled “WANTED,” his bounty was mentioned as 970 million units of Oda’s initial currency, which could be equivalent to berries in the series.
Dorry
Co-Captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates

- Bounty: 100 Million Berries (Pre Correction), 1,800,000,000 Berries (Post Inflation Correction)
Dorry leads the Giant Warrior Pirates, a crew he shares command with his partner Brogy. For a century, they were trapped in Little Garden due to their conflict, isolating them from the wider world. During this long absence, Dorry’s bounty remained at 100 million for some time. After adjusting for inflation, it increased to an astonishing 1,800,000,000.
Brogy
Co-Captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates

- Bounty: 100 Million Berries (Pre Correction), 1,800,000,000 Berries (Post Inflation Correction)
In much the same way as Dorry, Brogy serves as the second-in-command of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Contrary to initial appearances, Brogy’s bounty is not a mere 100 million berries but rather 1,800,000,000 berries due to inflation, which makes it quite substantial. In terms of bounty value, Dorry and Brogy are on par with a Yonko.
Whitebeard
The World’s Strongest Man

- Bounty: 5,046,000,000 Berries
In simpler terms, Whitebeard is renowned as one of the most iconic characters in the world of One Piece. He’s known as the “Strongest Man in the World,” and rightfully so. With his unique fruit called Gura Gura no Mi, he possesses the power to potentially destroy the entire world on his own.
Previously, he was associated with the Rocks Pirates, and his infamy stretched far and wide during that time. However, this wasn’t the end of his journey; instead, it led him to join the Whitebeard Pirates, which ultimately earned him a substantial reward of 5,046,000,000 berries.
Roger
The Pirate King
- Bounty: 5,564,800,000 Berries
Without a doubt, Gol D. Roger, who is famously known as The Pirate King, boasts the most significant bounty ever set, even before the dawn of the modern pirating age. This isn’t all that shocking, considering that he accomplished what was deemed impossible – traversing the Grand Line and uncovering the elusive treasure called One Piece.
In the course of his exciting journeys, Roger exposed the realities of the world of One Piece, making him a significant threat. His immense power, widespread fame, and extensive knowledge warrant his 5.56 billion berries, a sum that is quite justifiable. The only pirate from his era who might potentially have a higher bounty than him is Rocks, but the exact amount of his bounty remains undisclosed.
In exactly two weeks from now, we’ll get to witness One Piece Chapter 1158. As has been the tradition, this exciting chapter will be published on a Sunday. In Japan, it’ll hit the shelves at midnight JST on Monday. But don’t worry if you live outside of Japan, as most international readers can access the chapter on August 31st. That’s right! The official release date for One Piece Chapter 1158 is set for August 31, 2025. Best part? You can read it all for free on Manga Plus!
