Haki is a powerful spiritual ability that greatly enhances a person’s strength and is crucial for survival in the New World. The current arc in One Piece, focusing on Elbaf, features many of the strongest characters gathering in Warland, and their mastery of Haki is on full display. As we’ve seen increasingly, Haki is central to the story, and several characters demonstrate exceptional skill with it. However, their abilities vary, with some being far more proficient than others.
Shepherd Sommers
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation
Sommers is a powerful warrior working for the World Government and a member of the Holy Knights. He calls himself the ‘Dagger from Marijoa’ and possesses incredible fighting skills. Sommers controls vines and thorns using the Iba Iba no Mi Devil Fruit. Additionally, a pact with Imu grants him superhuman strength and the ability to regenerate from any injury, effectively making him immortal.
Sommers is also fairly skilled in Haki, as shown during the Elbaf arc when he briefly blocked an attack from Scopper Gaban. Although he doesn’t have Conqueror’s Haki, his Armament Haki is strong, it just wasn’t enough to compete with the strongest opponents, leading to his defeat in that arc.
Dorry and Brogy
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation
Dorry and Brogy are incredibly powerful fighters, recognized as the co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates and among the strongest characters in the series. They are highly skilled in Haki, capable of defeating massive Sea Kings with their swords. Their bounties of 1.8 billion berries each demonstrate just how formidable they are.
Although they haven’t shown Conqueror’s Haki, their Armament Haki is incredibly strong. They can effortlessly unleash devastating attacks like Ikoku’s Sovereignty, proving they’ve mastered this ability. Their power was evident in the Egghead Arc, where they were capable of seriously harming even the Five Elders, confirming their immense overall Haki levels.
Sanji
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation
Sanji is a key member of Luffy’s crew, considered his powerful right-hand man and one of the forces destined to help Luffy become the Pirate King. He demonstrated exceptional skill with Haki during the Elbaf arc of One Piece, notably defeating a Holy Knight in St. Killingham with ease, highlighting his incredible strength.
Sanji is already skilled in two advanced types of Haki – Observation and Armament – and he’s likely to master Conqueror’s Haki soon. While he’s constantly getting stronger and has the potential to become incredibly powerful, he hasn’t quite reached his peak yet.
Roronoa Zoro
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s
Zoro is naturally very skilled with Haki, but he struggles to fully control it. While the sword Enma allows him to unleash his powerful Conqueror’s Haki, he currently has little control over this ability. According to Scopper Gaban, mastering Haki requires complete control, and that’s now Zoro’s next goal.
Zoro’s mastery of Conqueror’s Haki isn’t quite as polished, meaning he still needs to become significantly stronger to beat Dracul Mihawk. During the Elbaf arc, Zoro showcased his full power – expertly combining Observation, Armament, and Conqueror’s Haki – to defeat the Domi Reversi Army alongside the giants.
Loki
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s
Loki is a remarkably powerful character in the later part of the One Piece story, so it’s no surprise he possesses incredibly strong Haki. While his Observation Haki is impressive, he’s truly exceptional with Conqueror’s Haki. He even mastered the advanced form of Conqueror’s Haki at a very young age.
Fourteen years ago, he used this ability to defeat King Harald. Combined with his Niddhogg powers, it became strong enough to even kill Elbaf’s most powerful king. Loki’s overall strength is incredibly difficult to rival, and he has masterful control over Haki.

Scopper Gaban

Scopper Gaban, known as the Left Arm of the Pirate King, is incredibly powerful, especially when it comes to Haki. Despite not having a Devil Fruit, he’s a top-tier fighter in the One Piece world, proving his Haki skills are exceptional. He’s mastered all three advanced forms of Haki, making him a true Haki specialist – a rare ability among even the strongest characters.
During the Elbaf arc, Gaban demonstrated exceptional mastery of Advanced Conqueror’s Haki and the ability to foresee events with his Observation Haki. He easily defeated Saint Sommers with just a few strikes, highlighting his overwhelming power. His most powerful attack could have effortlessly defeated Gunko, proving the incredible strength of his Haki.
Monkey D. Luffy
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s
Monkey D. Luffy, now one of the most powerful pirates on the sea, is also an incredibly skilled Haki user as the story reaches its climax. He’s constantly improving his control over this power, and Gaban even cautioned him during the events in Elbaf to be even more careful and precise with it. While Luffy can use all three advanced types of Haki, his Conqueror’s Haki is arguably his greatest strength.
During the events in Elbaf, Luffy powerfully used his Conqueror’s Haki to defeat Saint Sommers. This improved control over his Haki allows him to overcome immortality and easily defeat any Holy Knight. However, he’s not yet the strongest Haki user in the story and still has room to grow.
Imu
- Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s
Saint Imu Nerona, the ruler of the world, first arrived in Elbaf using Gunko. As soon as they landed, Imu unleashed a massive burst of Haki – so powerful it was felt even in the Underworld. It was undeniably the strongest Haki anyone in Elbaf had ever felt. Currently, only Joy Boy is believed to have greater Haki than Imu, making Imu the most powerful Haki user in Elbaf.
Additionally, Imu has now reached Elbaf in their physical form, effectively establishing the strongest Haki user Luffy will have to confront in this story arc.
