This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
In the world of One Piece, power largely comes from two sources: Devil Fruits and Haki. While both are significant, Haki is crucial for survival in the dangerous New World. Haki is a spiritual energy that everyone possesses, but only some are able to awaken it. There are two main forms of Haki: Observation Haki and Armament Haki. A rarer third type, Conqueror’s Haki, is found in only one in a million people.
Throughout the series, Haki has consistently demonstrated its importance as a defining power. The events at God Valley showcased incredibly strong Haki users – including members of the Roger Pirates, Rocks Pirates, and the Marines – all gathered in one place. It was a battleground for some of the most skilled Haki masters of their time.
Figarland Garling
One of the Holy Knights and Future Five Elders
I’ve learned that Figarland Garling now leads the Holy Knights and is one of the Gorosei, but things were very different during the God Valley incident. Back then, he was just a regular Holy Knight, still years away from reaching the power he has now.
Despite his loss, he was likely the most powerful Holy Knight. While Garling didn’t seem very strong – Rocks defeated him easily – he probably still possesses considerable Haki.
Saturn
A Member of the Five Elders
Wow, Saturn played a huge role in the God Valley Incident! He actually saw the Davy Clan escaping, and that’s when things got really crazy – Imu immediately took control of his body to deal with whatever was coming. It was a pivotal moment, honestly!
Honestly, seeing Saturn in action has been wild! He was already incredibly strong, but being influenced by Imu just made him seem totally unstoppable. Even without that boost, though, Saturn is easily one of the most powerful characters in all of One Piece. And it’s not just brute strength – all five of the Elders are ridiculously powerful, with insane Haki combined with their Yokai abilities. But when you add Imu’s Haki to the mix? That’s what made him the most dominant force at God Valley, hands down!
Big Mom
A Future Yonko
Like Whitebeard, Big Mom was part of the Rocks crew and present at God Valley. Initially, she aimed to gather strong Devil Fruits, but she became dedicated to fighting alongside the Rocks pirates out of loyalty. She already possessed her Devil Fruit powers at that time, and it’s now known she also had impressive control over Conqueror’s Haki. We’ve seen her demonstrate this with a powerful Haki blast—a technique called Ikoku—aimed at Imu.
Whitebeard
The World’s Strongest Man
During the events at God Valley, Whitebeard served under Rocks D. Xebec, and it’s widely believed he was the second most powerful member of the crew.
Even in his early days, Whitebeard possessed the Gura Gura no Mi, but he was also incredibly skilled with Haki. He famously clashed with Roger using Haki, though fans only saw a glimpse of this fight at God Valley. Whitebeard could also enhance his earthquake abilities with a powerful form of Conqueror’s Haki, using a technique called Space Breaker.
Garp
The Future Hero of the Marines
After the battle at God Valley, Garp became famous as the Hero of the Marines, and many people still consider him the strongest Marine ever. He and Gol D. Roger were fierce rivals, often considered to be evenly matched.
Similar to Roger, Garp’s fighting strength comes entirely from his Haki, and it’s among the strongest seen in the series. His Haki is so powerful he could withstand an attack from Big Mom. Along with Roger, he defeated Rocks D. Xebec, which shows they both had incredibly strong Conqueror’s Haki.
Gol D. Roger
The Future Pirate King
Gol D. Roger became the Pirate King by being the first to conquer the Grand Line, inspiring a new age of piracy in One Piece. He wasn’t just famous – he consistently demonstrated incredible strength and ability.
Gol D. Roger didn’t eat a Devil Fruit, so he depended entirely on his amazing Haki. He used it to fight incredibly powerful opponents like Whitebeard and even Rocks D. Xebec. To defeat a particularly strong member of the Rocks Pirates, Roger must have used a huge amount of advanced Conqueror’s Haki. He was so skilled, he could even send someone like Oden flying with a blast of Haki.
Rocks D. Xebec
The Captain of the Rocks Pirates
Rocks D. Xebec is a legendary figure in the world of One Piece. He captained the Rocks Pirates, considered one of the most fearsome crews to ever navigate the Grand Line. What made him so remarkable was his ability to command powerful individuals like Whitebeard and Big Mom – and he did it all without any Devil Fruit abilities. This suggests his Haki was incredibly strong. In fact, Rocks’ Haki was so potent that he could effortlessly defeat an Admiral and overpower Garling.
Imu
The Secret Sovereign of the World
Imu’s appearance in God Valley was a surprising but welcome addition by Oda. It’s clear that Imu was, by far, the most powerful figure present on God Valley.
While they possess a remarkably strong Devil Fruit ability, their Haki skills are equally impressive. Imu’s Conqueror’s Haki, in particular, is considered exceptional, and its true power remains to be revealed.
