The Holy Knights are a powerful group of villains introduced by Oda in the final part of One Piece. Though first hinted at during the Egghead arc, they take center stage as the main antagonists in the Elbaf arc. What makes the Holy Knights different from other villain groups in One Piece is their wildly varying strength levels. Some are relatively weak, easily defeated by characters like Gaban, while others are as powerful as the Yonko, or even stronger. More Holy Knights are still to be revealed, but here’s a look at the strongest ones we’ve seen so far.
8. Satchels Maffey
Satchels Maffey is a newly introduced Holy Knight from the anime and manga series One Piece. She first appeared during the God Valley arc, and her current location and condition remain a mystery.
Satchels Maffey is a powerfully built woman with sharp, jagged teeth. While the full extent of her powers isn’t clear, she’s demonstrated incredible abilities, including immortality and the capacity to withstand attacks even from someone as strong as Whitebeard. She can also shoot a laser beam from her mouth.
7. Shepherd Sommers
Shepherd Sommers is a long-standing member of the Holy Knights. He previously appeared in God Valley and is now playing a role in the ongoing story taking place on Elbaf. Sommers refers to himself as the ‘dagger of the Holy Land’.
Okay, so Saint Sommers is seriously powerful, no doubt about that! But honestly, when you look at the top-tier Holy Knights, he’s not quite reaching their level. We saw that in God Valley where Rayleigh took him down, and then again on Elbaf with old Gaban. What’s really cool about Sommers, though, is that he’s immortal! Plus, he’s got this awesome Devil Fruit, the Iba Iba no Mi, which lets him control thorns – pretty dangerous when you think about it!
6. Rimoshifu Killingham
We don’t know how long Rimoshifu Killingham has served with the Holy Knights. He wasn’t seen during the flashback to God Valley, but he’s now considered one of the strongest Holy Knights on Elbaf.
Killingham hasn’t fully unleashed his power yet, but he’s already achieved immortality. He also possesses an incredibly strong and rare Devil Fruit, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, which gives him the abilities of the mythical Kirin and lets him manifest dreams and nightmares into the real world.
5. Manmayer Gunko
Among the Holy Knights currently on Elbaf, Manmayer Gunko stands out as the most capable. She arrived with Shamrock and is likely his trusted second-in-command.
Gunko is an exceptional Holy Knight, and is actually Princess Shuri. She’s frequently seen with Imu, who selected her to be one of their chosen hosts. Having served as a Holy Knight for over 56 years, Gunko has demonstrated both immortality and the power of a unique Devil Fruit called the Aro Aro no Mi.
4. Shanks (Formerly)
Image via Toei Animation. Many fans were surprised to learn that Red-Haired Shanks, one of the current Yonko, used to be a member of the Holy Knights in his youth.
Shanks became associated with the group about 15 years ago, but he wasn’t truly dedicated to their cause. He used his role to collect intelligence and assist others instead. Although he was much less powerful when he served as a Holy Knight, he already possessed all forms of Haki.
3. Figarland Garling
Image via Toei Animation. Figarland Garling is likely to play a significant role in the final arc of One Piece. As one of the oldest and most seasoned Holy Knights, he was involved in the events at God Valley long ago. Currently, he’s known as the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights, indicating he’s more powerful and influential than most of his peers.
Garling is now a Five Elder, which means it’s uncertain whether he’s still a member of the Holy Knights. While we haven’t seen the full extent of his powers yet, he’s demonstrably a powerful fighter.
2. Harald
Image by Viz Media Harald’s role in the One Piece story, particularly during the Elbaf flashback, has sparked a lot of debate among fans. Although he was friends with Rocks, he didn’t help him at God Valley. Instead, he remained loyal to the World Government, believing it would eventually allow him to fulfill his dream of uniting Elbaf with the rest of the world.
Harald became a Holy Knight 14 years ago and completed many important missions. Even before gaining immortality, his strength rivaled Rocks’s. He grew even more powerful before his death, receiving a Deep Sea Covenant from Imu, and possessed incredibly strong Conqueror’s Haki.
1. Figarland Shamrock
After a lot of anticipation, Figarland Shamrock made his debut on Elbaf, arriving with Gunko. From the start, it was clear he’s an incredibly powerful fighter. Many believe Shamrock is just as capable as Shanks, and possesses a similar level of talent. He also fights with a unique Cerberus sword. Although he doesn’t seem to be showing his full strength yet, fans are predicting he’ll become the strongest currently active Holy Knight.
