One Piece: A Former Sun Pirate, One of the Most Powerful Marine Admirals, And 4 More Strong Characters Who Were Completely Humiliated By Luffy

This list contains spoilers up to Egghead Island in the One Piece anime

Given that Luffy is the central character in “One Piece,” it follows logically that he would become progressively stronger throughout the narrative. A significant portion of his power stems from his Devil Fruit, which gives him a rubbery physique and enables him to create an array of bizarre and unconventional attacks to overpower his adversaries. Although this doesn’t automatically signify that Luffy can effortlessly conquer every Marine or pirate he has encountered during his adventure, there have been instances when he managed to outsmart even formidable opponents, leaving them looking somewhat foolish.

Absolutely, it’s always going to be embarrassing for his adversary, particularly if they are an Admiral or pirate captain who strive to present a noble image to their comrades. Conversely, it significantly underscores the extraordinary power that Luffy has attained. Now, while every One Piece enthusiast is familiar with instances where Luffy was humiliated in combat, this compilation will focus on characters whom Luffy has instead shamed or humbled.

Arlong

The Ferocious Arlong Was Beaten By A Rookie Pirate

  • Episode: 43

Before reaching Arlong Park, Luffy and his motley crew of pirates had already defeated several dangerous foes, but Arlong is generally recognized as the primary significant antagonist they encounter in the narrative. Being filled with intense loathing towards humans, Arlong mocked and ridiculed Luffy during their initial encounter, thinking it highly unlikely for a puny human to defeat someone as strong and tough as himself.

As a die-hard fan, let me tell you about an epic moment from One Piece! Luffy took quite a beating from Arlong, what with his piercing nose and teeth leaving some painful wounds. But, oh boy, did he ever turn the tables! With a mighty swing of his Battleaxe, he not only knocked out the cunning Fishman but also sent Arlong Park crumbling down! To add salt to injury, this defeat unfolded right before the eyes of Arlong’s crew, who once believed their captain was powerful enough to conquer the entire East Blue. It sure must have been a humbling experience for Arlong!

Blueno

The Dangerous CP-9 Agent Had No Hope Of Keeping Up With Gear 2 Luffy

  • Episode: 270

In their quest to rescue Robin within Enies Lobby, the Straw Hats had to confront individual members of the secret agency CP9. Specifically, Luffy found himself facing off against Blueno, a unique adversary who could materialize doors at will to outsmart opponents before delivering a lethal blow. Though not the most intellectually gifted, Luffy grasped that he needed to boost his strength significantly in order to inflict real damage on Blueno. This realization prompted him to deploy his newest move, Gear 2.

In an impressive display of speed and power, Luffy outmaneuvered Blueno, leaving him battered and bruised. Due to Luffy’s incredible agility, Blueno was unable to keep up with his movements, making it impossible for him to counterattack. Furthermore, since it takes Blueno some time to activate his doors, he was defenseless when pinned against them by Luffy’s attacks, effectively trapping him and preventing any escape.

Cracker

Cracker Probably Should Have Known Better Than To Use Food Against Luffy

  • Episode: 806

Shortly after setting foot on Whole Cake Island, Luffy encounters Cracker, one of Big Mom’s faithful Sweet Commanders. Given his title, it’s no surprise that Cracker has the ability to conjure an army of soldier-like crackers due to his Devil Fruit powers. Normally, this would be enough to deter anyone from venturing into Big Mom’s domain, but Luffy, instead of backing off, views it as a chance to test his eating limits.

For the first time, Luffy reveals his newly transformed Tank Form, allowing him to eat vast quantities without discomfort. After consuming countless cracker soldiers, Luffy follows up by delivering a powerful barrage of punches, swiftly defeating the remainder of Cracker’s forces and leaving him utterly humiliated in mere moments.

Kizaru

Luffy Proved To Be A Real Annoyance For The Lightning-Fast Admiral

  • Episode: 1127

Clearly, it’s important to note that Kizaru’s mental state was questionable during his confrontation with Luffy on Egghead Island. After all, he had been instructed to kill his own friend cold-bloodedly just moments before. Despite Kizaru being able to maintain a fight against the overpowered Luffy, he ultimately found it challenging to counteract Luffy’s Gear 5 attacks, making his task significantly harder than anticipated. This ordeal only adds to the humiliation as Luffy, true to form, was laughing maniacally while effortlessly tossing Kizaru around like a toy during their skirmish.

To put it bluntly, the gravity of the circumstances escalated to such an extent that even the Five Elders felt compelled to jump into the fray, taking on Luffy and Vegapunk themselves. Granted, Kizaru narrowly accomplished his mission in the end, but it’s hard not to see the encounter with Luffy as a rather humbling experience for this Admiral – one that left him red-faced when Akainu called him out shortly after through Den Den Mushi.

Bellamy

Bellamy Has A Bad Habit Of Talking Too Much Before A Battle

  • Episode: 150

In spite of appearances that might suggest Bellamy is a relatively ineffective pirate, having been defeated by Luffy twice, there are signs that he might be stronger than he seems at first glance. For one, Bellamy managed to unite an entire band of pirates under his command. Moreover, he boasts a Devil Fruit ability, which enhances his speed and agility considerably, making it quite challenging for opponents to catch him when he’s operating at full capacity.

Initially, Bellamy’s encounter with Luffy didn’t work out in his favor; he was knocked out with just a single punch, and this humiliating defeat took place in front of his entire crew. This wasn’t the end of his embarrassments though; later in the story, Bellamy met a similar fate in front of Doflamingo, his childhood idol. These repeated defeats eventually led Bellamy to abandon piracy for good, which might have been beneficial given that repeatedly getting defeated by Luffy wouldn’t be great for one’s health.

Kaido

Not Even The Unkillable Kaido Could Keep Up With Gear 5

  • Episode: 1049

As a fervent fan, I can’t help but marvel at the impending showdown between Kaido, Wano’s ruthless overlord, and Luffy, the fearless captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Initially, Kaido seemed invincible, effortlessly overpowering Luffy during their initial clashes. However, things have taken a dramatic turn since Luffy tapped into the divine power of the Sun God Nika.

In Gear 5, Luffy transforms into a god-like figure, capable of shaping his surroundings and adversaries into an extraordinary caricatured realm. This unparalleled strength raises questions about Kaido’s ability to maintain control over Wano if he falls before the entire nation’s eyes. The stage is set for an epic battle that could redefine the balance of power in the world of One Piece!

Due to his skills, Luffy was able to manipulate Kaido effortlessly, making him spin around like a plaything, and at one instance, even used Kaido’s scaly dragon form as a jump rope. Essentially, Luffy embarrassed Kaido, leaving him no choice but to submit. This event demonstrated to the people of Wano that they had nothing to fear from Kaido anymore. This marked the first time Kaido had experienced such humiliation since Oden gave him a scar many years ago. Although it seems unlikely that Kaido will recover anytime soon in the story, if he miraculously does return, it’s evident that he would be fiercely determined to seek retribution against the one who humiliated him so profoundly.
